Christmas in July and Creative Challenge - S&W
|
I used April's Stamp and Watercolor challenge to make a Christmas card for Christmas in July. Finally! A Christmas card!
It is a cool technique. I only have full size Distress ink pads, so it was a little harder, but still doable.
I stamped the holly on watercolor paper and used a wet paint brush to blend out the leaves. I added the berries by coloring that part of the stamp with a Tombow marker, The bird was stamped using the same S&W technique. There is a faint snowbank painted along the bottom with Shaded Lilac distress. I added clear Wink of Stella to the berries and the snow. The sentiment was stamped on the smooth side of the same watercolor paper, die cut and adhered with foam dots. The watercolor piece is distressed along the edges and inked, then matted with glitter paper, and interestingly, the printed paper is the reverse side of the glitter paper! Old, old specialty pack of K&Co paper.
Stamps : Inkadinkado Cool Christmas
Inks : Distress : Holly - speckled egg, evergreen bough, peeled paint, bird - weathered wood, speckled egg, snow - shaded lilac
: Archival : sentiment - Watering Can
Paper : Pretty sure it's Strathmore 140lb watercolor paper, glitter and patterned paper are one piece of K&Co specialty paper.
Thank you for the challenges April and Daria!
TFL!
