Taylored Expressions Coloring class.

These are the cards I made today as part of Taylored Expressions Virtual Stamp Joy
Today's cards were an add on to the event that focused on coloring methods. We received the Flower Market stamp and die set as part of the class kit. We were also given a sentiment set, All Together Occasions 2. I really like the font. It's one rubber stamp with one die that cuts out all of the sentiments at once.

Top left : Olo alcohol markers, a new competitor of Copics. I have never used Copics but people seem to think these are juicier, more of the ink in the marker is usuable, so the price may be better. You can buy brush or chisel tips. We used brush. Unfortunately, they did not supply the markers with the class kit so I bought a small bundle they put together with colors used in the class. I like them. Won't invest in more just yet as I like other coloring mediums too.

Top right : watercoloring, wet on wet. I subbed Distress inks for TE liquid watercolors because they were sold out. Turns out, that might have been a good thing, as I was happy with the results I got without them. There is another class tomorrow that could still change my mind ;)

Bottom left : Prismacolor pencils and gamsol (I used something called Grumtine because I would have had to buy a large bottle of Gamsol locally).

Bottom right : A good way to get away with no coloring! White embossing powder on colored cardstock. This card has a z-fold on the inside that the green panel is attached to. We stamped all over with a small leaf sprig to create a background.

All of the cards have a tone on tone stamped background. I used Rubbernecker "distress screen" on the others.

I like the container die that was supplied. It comes with another container. Antique pails.

Splattering : We used Dr Ph Martin's Bleed Proof white. It's a an opaque ,thick liquid watercolor. Art Impressions has also started using this in their demos.

Embellishment : TE "drip drops" clear drops.

What a wonderful class. I like the idea of exploring different ways to add color. Your shading on these flowers is wonderful. I really like the sentiment set you used. Thanks for the reminder to use a single small stamp to create a wonderful background. I love all your cards. TFS. Daria

These are beautiful cards! I love watercoloring with Distress inks. In fact I prefer that than using watercolors. Great class!

They are gorgeous, those colors from the markers are so pretty, I have wondered about those markers, I have been very slowly adding copics when they come on sale when my spectrums have dried up. Love that screen background too, and the cool splattering!
