Hero Arts Winter Trees

I hadn’t made any Christmas cards all year. Well, I used parts of two old cards as backgrounds for two new cards in November. December arrived, and I was desperate. I saw a card I loved on Pinterest, and it looked easy to make. Michelle W. posted that card on her blog, Seashell Creations, on October 5, 2018. I loved the bright vivid colors she used. Better yet, I had the stamp and the ink pad she’d used. Maybe, I could make this easy Christmas card for everyone this year. I’d never done that before, but this year people would not be comparing their cards since none of us are getting together to celebrate due to the pandemic.

When I tried to stamp the stamp, I discovered it was a defective stamp. I ordered another one and had to wait for it to arrive hoping it would get here in time to make the cards and not be another reject. It arrived and stamped beautifully. After working on them on and off for two weeks, fifty-one cards are in the mail!

Michelle had added glitter to her trees. I tried out every clear glitter I had. Most had so much blue or pink or purple in them; they changed the feeling of the card. I had a jar of Cosmic Shimmer I had never even opened. I tried that, and you could barely see it. I thought it wasn’t worth all the trouble of adding glitter to all those cards and decided to skip it. Two nights ago, I decided to add it to just a few cards. Somewhere around 3 am, I finished adding it to all the cards. It is extremely subtle, but it adds a hint of sparkle without changing the wintery mood of the card.

Oooh, THAT's how you got the smooth transition from a lighter blue to more intense! A Kaleidacolor pad and a brayer! It's so pretty and the sparkle is just beautiful, yet subtle ... I couldn't figure out how you added it. Thanks for sharing the details.
