Crochet baby blanket

I started crocheting this as a stress break from clearing out my Mom's house. I went crazy for a few days, had to put it down and didn't pick it up again until this morning with one row to go and of course weaving in the yarn tails where the colors changed. I finished it about an hour before the baby shower for one of my DDs best friends. Her Dad coached softball with my DH, so we spent many summers together at softball tournaments.

This is the blanket I think I mentioned in a chat that I started by crocheting that wide blue stripe at the bottom, in pink! Then I found out she was expecting a boy. The pink rows can be a scarf for my granddaughter. Went back to HL and traded the extra pink yarn for blue. It's a really soft yarn called Baby Bee Stork Struck, 50% Lyocell 50% acrylic and most importantly washer and dryer safe.

TFL!

It's beautiful! This will be a treasured keepsake. When my children's friends would come over to visit, they would always grab the knitted afghans to curl up in to watch TV. They don't grow out of these. TFS. Daria

I love this color combo! I think this works for a baby and even an older kid. I know my kids both still have the handmade blankets they got as babies so I’m sure this will be a treasure!
