Alcohol ink- blown with straw

Recently I took a class to learn how to a make a hand stitch journal. I plan to use this piece as the cover. The background is created by blowing alcohol inks one color at a time across the glossy paper. Most of the circles you see in the background are created with drops of rubbing alcohol.

I enjoy looking at the depth of all the layers of ink and the interesting blend of colors.Wish I could put it in your hands so you could tilt it.

I stamped the bird and tree branch. The feather is embossed and die cut from a piece of alcohol inked paper and embellished with dots of heated embossing powder. The feather was added with pop dots.

This is wonderful, Jan! TFS! It will make a great cover for your journal. Lots to praise with this confection... I really like how some of the 'blown' ink has feathery edges. I love the branch. Did you heat-emboss it? The feather diecut is beautiful. It's blues & greens are a fine contrast to the warmer BG colors. The stamped bird is just perfect. Did you fussycut & layer it? I repeat... This is a wonderful piece of work, Jan!!!

That background came out beautiful. I love the bird sitting on the branch and the die cut feather is a great touch. This will make a fabulous cover for your journal.
