Box Card Challenge-Jan. 2016 Happy Birthday
|
To start this most colorful box card I made two background boards out of watercolor paper. One I made using golds and yellows and blues, the other one I used blues. I used Paper Artsy paint and painted both sides of the yellow but only one side of the blue. I used the blue for the card/box. I used six colors in each then stamped with blues on the yellow background and with black on the blue background. I then used Dina Wakley heavy body paints for the circles on the blue with heavy use of the silver and gold. I left those to dry.
I picked out several star dies and started cutting out the stars from the yellow background. Then I inked all the edges with distress ink in Mermaid Lagoon. I cut and formed the box and then inked all the box edges also using Mermaid Lagoon. I then glued and stuck all the stars and the Tim Holtz birthday cupcake to the box.
I like this one better then the first one I did as an experiment but I wish I would have done both sides of the blue background since you can see white inside the box and I think it would look better if it had been the same as the outside of the box.
Thank you for looking.
