Baby on the way - another
|
I told you I was having trouble making a card to celebrate our first grandchild, to be!
I woke up with second thoughts about the first card (hippo on the outside, pea pod on the inside), so I made another. I'm open for voting, ha! Which one do you like best? I think I like the stork, but who knows how I will wake up tomorrow?
Stamps : Anna Griffin/All Night Media stork, SU sentiment, SU dictionary background
Embossing folder : SU Cloudy Day
Inks : Distress oxide - Vintage Photo, Distress - walnut stain, tumbled glass, spun sugar
Cardstock : Neenah Classic Crest Natural White
Dies : Spellbinders Labels One
Punches : 1/2 in and 1 in circle
Technique : Distress Oxide smudge technique. I used the technique on the stork and on the background. The pigment part of the oxide ink stays wet longer than the dye, so you can stamp on smooth cardstock and then smudge with foam to color the image but retain the detail lines. I saw it in a video by Scraposy. https://youtu.be/vQsgrOX7Esc
Inside I stamped a tiny safety pin and the sentiment "baby, baby"
Note : the weird mark over "hip, hip" is not evident in the card. I think it is a small dent in the cardstock that I didn't see until I looked at the photo. Ugh!
TFL again!
