PSX Windmill & Brushos

I wanted to copy a card that Birgit Edblom made using Serendipity’s Rowboat and Dock for my son’s birthday. He saw the directions I had printed out for that card and thought it was beautiful. I went looking for the stamp which I thought I had, but I had a similar but much smaller image by PSX. Sigh. I have now ordered that Serendipity image from Impression Obsession. Next year . . .

I decided to make this card which is like one made by Stacy Sheldon (JBgreendawn). I’ve always loved the card she made. She watercolored hers with Distress Oxide ink, but I just used Brusho. The Brusho stained the embossing so it didn’t just wipe off the way regular watercolors do. I made a mess, and two images landed in the wastepaper basket. I saved one, and when it dried, I painted with Brusho and water to add more color in some areas.

CARD:
4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110-lb. cardstock
Gina K. Designs “purple” cardstock (matches Brusho’s Ultramarine perfectly)
Papertrey Ink Linen/Canvas Impression Plate (used on mat)

FOCAL IMAGE:
Fabriano Artistico Extra White Hot-Pressed watercolor paper
Personal Stamp Exchange Windmill, K-2135
VersaMark Ink
Ranger’s Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder
Colourcraft Brusho (Cobalt Blue and Ultramarine)

TFL.

This is really cool! Reminds me of Delft tile. The texture on the mat is really nice too. I'm sure your son will love this one just as much!
