Backgrounds with Gelli Plate
|
I used a 6 x 6 gelli plate and Liquitex Basics acrylic paint to make these backgrounds. The backgrounds are 7 x 7 card stock. I used a brayer to roll on the paint and in some of them I used different stencils to make patterns.
The first one I used a solid tan for the background, took a print, then put orange on the gelli plate with a stencil over the paint and took a print. So there is sort of a texture on the print from two layers of paint.
The second one is done the same but with burnt umber as the under coat.
The third one has the stencil layer done first and then an orange layer after the stencil and paint was removed from the gelli plate.
The bottom left one is the second generation print. Everything that had anything left on the gelli plate I put on this print. It looks better in person but I really like it.
The bottom middle one was the original print I started with, I don't really like it much. In person it is metalic so it looks better.
The bottom right hand one I did for the grandson that loves the IHawks. Black and Gold; so I will use this for something for him.
Thank you for looking!
