Oldies retiform technique

This is for Stampwilly's November Oldies challenge - retiform technique. The colors are warmer irl, not quite so garish, haha! The brown is darker and the green on the flower is more green than the grayish it shows here.

I made two retiform pieces for this card. I started with the flower piece in a sort of log cabin pattern. I didn't like how the collage stamping around it turned out, so I trimmed out the flower. On the flower piece I used copy paper as a mask.
I made another retiform piece for a background in a somewhat plaid pattern using post-it tape as a mask. Both pieces were done on glossy paper. They are matted on a glitter card base.
Stamps - SU flower, Rubber Stampede oak leaf, Just for Fun script border
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
Archival Inks - Olive, Fern Green, Coffee
Embellished with a piece of sheer ribbon and a rhinestone

TFL!

This is a pretty card and I do see the grid. The background is soft and the image pops! Thanks for doing my challenge! Very Happy

I really like the bold medallion on the pretty background u made. I didn't think of using straight lines for this technique but it looks great!
