First AI attempt along with final BG piece

I am showing the same piece in this post---the left side is what the piece looked like after my first attempt with using AIs and the right side is what the same piece from the left looked like after I added more AI/BF and figured some things out. I came back to my first piece after having done the next three I am about to upload.

The kit I am using is 'Cottage Path'--which contains colors, "currant" (red), "slate" (grey), and "meadow" (green). I am using felt from my sewing stash to apply.
