Happy Mail Swap

The product I used was watercolors. I thought that the transparent look of watercolor paint would make a good butterfly and the butterfly definitely is light and flies in the air.

I wet watercolor paper with clean water, then I added a wash of paint. While it was still wet, I used a more concentrated amount of paint on my brush and splattered it into the panel. This is what I used for all my butterflies. I did add stickles to the spots on the butterflies. Before I sent it, the butterflies were a little dimensional, but I bet they flattened in the mail.

The background is a large stamp over patterned paper.

I love it Heidi! Even the arrangement of the butterflies is light and airy. At first I thought maybe you hand drew the black lines in the background ... Embarrassed It really adds interest to this card. I like the pops of bright pink on the butterflies too. Thank you!

I love your background paper. Did you cut and paste the panels or use ruler and black ink. Whatever way you created it, is stunning. I love the butterflies and I think this is very light and airy. Again love the panel background.

Ann, like I said in the description, the background is a large stamp called Inspiration Mosaic by Gina K. It is a great stamp and is very versatile.

Cool use of watercolors Heidi...the splatters add a lot of interest and cause my eyes to follow their path of flight! Great background too for adding to the light and airy feel. Thanks for playing in this swap!
