AIR 16 Blend It! Challenge

I made this card for Jan’s AIR 2016 challenge: Blend It! Thank you, Jan, for hosting this challenge. It got me back into the craft room for something besides staring at the mess!

It’s more difficult than I thought to blend inks at the center of the card. I tried a few times using Tim Holtz Ink Applicators before switching to Judikins Dusters to apply the ink. That worked much better. On this background I started with the Tim Holtz round ink applicator and quickly switched to the duster for the next two colors.

Card:
4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80-lb. cardstock
Judikins or Stampin’ Up! Black cardstock (from scrap drawer)

Focal Image:
Stamp by Annette Allen Watkins, Printworks Collection F1024
Versfine Onyx Black Ink
Ranger Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder
Signo Uniball Gel Pen, white
Tombow light gray marker, #95

Background:
Distress Inks – Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood
Applied with Judikins Dusters and Tim Holtz Round Ink Applicator

TFL.

Beautiful card! I really love the stamp you used and the bright highlights with the white gel pen. The blending looks great.

At first I thought the image was stenciled...it is so pretty! Looks like you found a great method of blending that works for you. Thanks for all your experimenting efforts! I like the grounding of your image too.

I love the clean look of this card. The flower basket really pops in the black against the blue. Lovely.
