Remake: Maryse Carrier & Color Blocking

I salvaged the focal images from a couple of cards I never liked enough to give away. I used a color-blocked background that I fell in love with when I saw the card made by Kristine McIntosh. https://stampingwithkris.com/2012/10/23/a-hostess-gift-4/
I made two cards, and I still have enough pieces to make two more!

CARD: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, 110-lb cardstock (base)
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, 80-lb cardstock (embossed pieces)
Stampin’ Up! Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Stampin’ Up! Stripes embossing folder
Metallic Cardstock (more like a glimmer cardstock)

RECYCLED FOCAL IMAGES:
Maryse Carrier Stamps
140-lb. hot pressed watercolor paper
Versafine Black Onyx Ink
Clear Detail Embossing Powder
Twinkling H2O’s (Green Tea, Chestnut Brown)
Sakura Stardust pens used on the stars and the border swirls/stars
Sakura glaze pen used on the frame
Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

MEASUREMENTS FOR THE BACKGROUND:
Card Base: 4¼” x 5½”
Mat: 4” x 5¼”
Patterned/Embossed pieces are cut from 4¾” x 5” pieces. (I embossed before measuring.)

The wider length is cut across at 3”.
The narrower length is cut across at 3 1/8”

What a good idea to use what you have. I really like that color blocking too, especially with the embossed pieces. Thanks for sharing the details. Your focal piece is charming. I used to love watching Maryse Carrier when she was a guest on the Carol Duvall show.
