Blind Date birthday card

I made 10 cards that came in a kit "Blind Date with a Craft" sold by my LSS, Everything Scrapbook and Stamps.
I had fun making them. The point was to have an easy crafting date with a little pampering ... this kit contained a pretty tin containing delicious chocolates! The kit included card bases, card fronts, metallic mat layer, flower layering die cuts, the Happy Birthday die (Creative Expressions) and the Floral embossing folder (Spellbinders). This first kit was geared toward card making, she sold a 2nd kit geared toward mixed media and hopefully there will be more to come.

This project reminded me to use the mat layer and cut the sentiment out of the middle of it where it will be hidden by the embossed layer! Great way to conserve fancy papers and I don't often think of it!

I made made some birthday cards and also used a few of my own sentiment dies to make Thank Yous and Sympathy cards.

I embellished my cards with a few Nuvo Dream Drops, they are hard to see in this photo.

TFL!

pretty card and that is a fun idea for a kit. Did you eat the chocolate first?
