March Kept KIT 2015

Made from my kept kit using: pink tissue paper, hummingbird image, punched flowers, the green striped PP.

I folded the tissue paper, sprayed with water until fully wet through and then placed in EF and ran through Cuttlebug. I left the tissue paper in the EF until mostly dry then took out and let fully air dry. Next, I colored the raised embossing with distress inks and heat set briefly. After dry, I distressed the edges with scissors--the long edge was easier to do than the short side. Next, sewed the tissue to CS.

Colored the image and cut out with Cuttlebug and colored around the image--thought it was too pink so rubbed white pigment ink around the image. Distressed the edges of the oval as well as the clean edge seemed too stark.

Added punched borders. Colored the punched flowers with ink spray and added Pearl Accents (which I have trouble making perfect "pearl"); punched leaves out of striped green PP and colored with spray. Added those, ribbons, twirled CS. TFL!

Wow, I never would have thought to use tissue paper through the Cuttlebug. Great technique. Love your hummingbird and the flowers it is landing on.

I did not know you could do that with tissue paper. I'm going to have to pull out my stash of tissue paper. I love how it came out. Very shabby chic. I love the curling ribbon too.

Smile so pretty! I love the way you colored the hummingbird. You paired it well with the PP and embellishments. Very shabby chic and delicate looking. Great job!
