Nativity

This card was inspired by Holiday Card Workshop, Online Card Classes. The theme was dry embossing.
I thought these would be good for mass producing, haha! At least 13 steps involved but I finished 25 cards, yay!
From the moment I saw this "leaves" embossing folder (Jan sent me a card using it) I knew I would like to use it with a nativity scene, as it looks like palm fronds to me.
The embossed front panel is mounted with foam tape. The medallion is mounted with either a die cut foam sheet or a double layer of card stock. I tried both ways. I had to use hot glue to get the foam to stick to the metallic card stock, after trying several glues, some of which had dried up or were just off with age. At least I decluttered some old glue!
I used a technique I saw Scrapcosy do with the focal image, where she stamps with Distress Oxide ink and then blends. The die part of the formula dries quickly and keeps the outline, and the pigment blends to give the image some color. I experimented with how long I let the ink dry and some images are more blended, some less. I also inked around the edge with Walnut Stain distress.
