Retirement/birthday/moving card

This is the card we gave DH's friend. It was his birthday, he just retired, and he and his wife are very excited to be moving to a new home and airplane hangar a couple of hours north.

It's a collaboration with my mom! I think she started this for our anniversary, or maybe for Dave's Father's Day? I'm pretty sure the background paper and printed punch outs are from a pad by Studio LIght? I added the sentiment and stamped the birds. Inside I stamped "Time to Celebrate" to cover all of the bases!

Surprisingly, he brought a birthday card I had made him years ago to the party! His wife says he saves all of my cards. I think I usually just send Christmas cards unless we are getting together for a milestone birthday. Inside DH had promised him a ride in our airplane! Maybe he wanted to collect his gift? Actually my DH helped him build his own airplane similar to ours. They said there is a new restaurant at the airport close to their new house. We'll have to plan to meet some day.

TFL!

How special is this to have finished a card our mom began. It's perfect for the retiring birthday guy. I bet he loved this one. TFS. Daria

So nice you are getting use out of some of your mom's goodies, this is very cool and so neat that he brought alone cards you had made before, so nice to know when people appreciate what you have made them!
