Alcohol ink backgound with faded textures

I chose a non-porous glossy cardstock to create an alcohol ink background and then I used Memory Box's fond stencil for the Faded Layers Technique to add a layer of dark leaflets pointed on the left edge. The stencil was used as a mask while removing the background ink with rubbing alcohol.

Another stencil was used with distress inks to create a mosaic pathway. The bird was stamped with archival inks and then over-stamped with script in memories unicorn ink. I used enamel accents to create the eye. Additional branches were stamped with archival inks. To finished I added drops of rubbing alcohol for additional dimension.

My first comment is "WOOF", Jan! TY for all the info (some of which I even understand) Laughing But what absolutely blows my mind is the bird! The realism of its head & breast is incredible! And then to overstamp it and have it 'wearing' script on its wings & tail is simply incredible. I see places where it looks dimensional that I'm sure are just great stenciling & so much more! I repeat..."WOOF!"

On your blog post, I missed the script on the bird. Cool detail!

Jan, this is beautiful. Thank you for explaining how you made this card. I wonder if I could use the Faded Layers Technique on older pieces of Polished Stone that I've never used because they turned out so bright. I'll give it a try. TFS. Daria

You truly outdid yourself on your card. Thanks for the explanation. I wish I could have a card turn out so beautifully. The background is stunning and like Looser said, the bird really has a realism about it.
