INK15 Fill Er Up, INK 15 Masking

I made this card for my friend's family. My friend, Snickerdoodleart, here on Artsy Inkers, is in hospice. I posted more under the General Chat forum. I didn't start out thinking I'd make a card for her ... it just happened that way I guess, because she is who I've been thinking of all day.

Thank you Heidi and Connie for the challenges!

Fill 'Er Up

I used two stamps, a heart and flower (Stamps by Judith peg stamps) to fill the butterfly stencil (Crafter's Workshop).

Masking

I did quite a bit of masking to make this one layer card. I made a mask from the butterfly stencil out of a low tack contact paper.
Then I punched a hole in another piece of contact and used the positive and negative pieces to add more detail to the butterfly. The negative hole, to ink and stamp inside the circle, and then the punched circle to cover it while I stamped and inked the rest of the butterfly.

I stamped part of a line of trees (Sheena Douglass, Crafter's Companion) across the bottom of the card and also on contact paper to cut another mask. I covered the card while I inked the trees, and covered the trees while I inked the background with a color duster brush. I kept the butterfly and trees covered with masks while I stamped the text (Just for Fun).

I mounted my one layer piece to a white card base. Inside I stamped "Wishing you ... Peace" and a small butterfly. TFL!

Very pretty. I like the stamps that you used to fill in the butterfly. I also do like how you added the trees underneath.

When I saw this on the gallery page, I thought the butterfly was 3D. This card came out amazing. I'm so impressed with all the masking you did. I especially like the circle detail on the butterfly wing.
