Ann 2.16 challenge.stenciling
|
I used 2 fun stenciling techniques to create this card.
I stenciled the background with a light, bright and dark green distress inks. Covered the pattern totally with the light color, for the 2nd color inked inward not adding the color to the outer 2 rows and then inked a smaller area to color with the dark color. Heat set. Then moved the stencil down to the open space between the rows. Added another layer with the light color. I like when the result appears that every opening was individually colored but really was so much easier!
I colored the stencil butterfly with distress ink. Then removed stencil and colored with a second ink color to create the outer border and fill in all the white space. Heat set. Then added embossing ink through the stencil with a small blending tool to cover the stencil's openings with a heat embossing sticky glue, removed stencil and poured off the excess. Heated sticky glue then layered the silver foil on top (with mini dots in multi-color) shiny side up rub lightly. Then rub more when cool and foil will self release once adhered. Fussy cut to create outer edge. Folded wings next to the body, raised wings and attached the body to the card. Thanks for looking!
