WF17 3M Mixed Media Shabby Chic

This is for Sarah's challenge:
Texture medium - whipped spackle
Color - Distress ink and Avery Elle Pigment inks
Embellishment - ribbon, lace and vellum butterfly with pearls

I was really happy with how my background turned out. I first stenciled with Distress inks (two pinks, one mint green and a little tea dye), then I immediately stenciled over top with the whipped spackle. It looks white until it starts drying, then it is clear that the ink mixes with the spackle.

I used both masking and stamp kissing on my stamped oval. Flower is Purple Onion, Fern is Rubber Stampede and sentiment is I Brake for Stamps. Avery Elle inks Pixie, Kraft, Truffle and Mint to Be.

I used antique linen distress ink on the scalloped oval (Gina K applemint color) and oval to make it more shabby. The photo does wash out the main image a little. I will need to try to get a better photo. The stamp I kissed to was the Hero Arts Italian poetry background.

I would have started out with ivory cardstock had I known what direction it would take in style.

Oh wow that is so cool, love how you can see the color through the spackle and the butterfly is so pretty, almost looks like it is a screen that you punched out

I love how the background came out. I am definately going to have to try that technique. I really like the soft look of the colors. Beautiful. Thanks for playing.

This is so pretty! The butterfly looks so dainty, it does look like screen! Very cool effect from the whipped spackle over ink.

This is lovely. I love the feeling you got with your color choices; I think the tea dye ink mellowed the pastels beautifully. The background is wonderful with all that texture. TFS. Daria
