Koi birthday

I started these cards on Mother's Day playing with my mom and sister and finished them up today. This one had the background and koi glued down but no sentiment yet. I masked the card base and koi and splashed with turquoise perfect pearls mixed with water. (Thank you Heidi for that idea.) The splatters look a little purple-ish. Not sure if there was something left in my brush? They shimmer blue though. The bubbles are stamped and I added a tiny bit of glossy accents.

This background is watercolor paper dragged through distress oxide inks misted with water on a nonstick craft sheet.

Stamps : Hero Arts Layering Koi, Mama Elephant sentiment
Inks : Hero Arts - koi, Distress oxide - background, Versafine Onyx black - sentiment

Dies - Hero Arts koi and Quickutz/WeR conversation bubble

I cut two koi and two conversation bubbles and glued them together to add dimension.

This card is for my dad.

Parden my hand, ha! Had to get just the right angle to capture some of the shimmer! TFL!

Oooo! The turquoise perfect pearls is pretty! I do know that the distress oxides will separate out into different colors (unlike regular distress inks) so maybe that is how you got the purple. Very neat card.

I love those oxide inks; your background is lovely. I like the splatter and also the glossy accent bubbles leading o the word bubble. TFS. Daria
