Oxide rub off

Oxide Rub Off
I stumbled on a video of this technique using oxide inks that I have never seen. You make an oxide background like Tim Holtz shows but do it on glossy card stock. Then stamp a stamp over the background also using a dark color of oxide ink. The piece will look chalky and beautiful - HOWEVER if you leave it that way you will have to seal it with hairspray or something because the pigment part of the ink will rub off. Now, what I did here was to just go ahead and rub over the whole card with a dry rag and it leaves behind the dye part of the ink! You will not need to seal this. If you just used dye ink it this would look really bold and maybe more muddied since the oxide inks lay on top of each other and don't muddy. Anyway, it is a neat technique.
