Vintage Notel faux letterpress

I used Jennifer McGuire's video for the technique to make 5 of these cards. It's done by cutting two die cuts from heavy (I used 110lb) cardstock and 1 cut from vellum, then gluing together. I inked the vellum backside of my layered diecut with Distress Oxide ink and pressed it to watercolor paper using my BigShot.

I went over the holly with clear Wink of Stella, it's not showing very well in the photo. Also, Noel is debossed but sometimes when I look at the photo it almost looks embossed! I mounted two on pink card bases with a bigger border and 3 on punch colored card bases with a smaller border.

Of the letterpress results I've tried in the past, I obtained the best results with this technique.

Die : Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vintage Noel
Ink : Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick
Stamp : holly from Inkadinkado Cool Christmas (I surgically removed berries from leaves so I could stamp in two colors. I used a WeR Stamp positioner.
Ink : Distress Peeled Paint and Festive Berries

TFL!

I saw that video too. Love letterpress; but it's hard to photograph. This does look more embossed than debossed! I'm glad you tried it and it worked. TFS. Daria
