Watercolor Mother's Day

I made these for my mother and mother-in-law using what I'm learning in the Craftsy, Watercolor Made Simple for cards class.
My MIL wore a teal dress to our wedding, I tried to mix teal but it came out a little greener. And skin tone, ha! A little bright, but these are sort of cartoonish so I didn't worry too much about it. I used a wet on wet technique, coloring the dresses first. My favorite part is the shadow around the teal dress and lighter area for the sentiment.

I used Koi pan watercolors and Canson 140 lb watercolor paper (I think? I also cut some Strathmore 140lb)

I stamped the dress from Dylusions, Night at the Opera set in Ranger archival black ink. Did the watercoloring, let dry overnight and stamped the sentiment also in archival ink, using a stamp-a-ma jig to position just right. Did not want to mess up the sentiment after all the watercoloring!

TFL!

These look great! The watercoloring looks pretty and I especially like the color combos. The red and yellow one is my favorite! Good work!

Very nice. I like the fact that you matched your MIL's dress colour to your card. These cards are sure to impress.

Cindi, these are terrific! They are bright, cheerful, and have a sense of fun about them. I also like the way you added the shadowing around the teal dress. I didn't even notice it until I read your comment; you've blended it in so well, it does its job in a subtle way. TFS. Daria
