30 Lists Day 1

This is my second time through 30 Lists (if I don't count last December, when I only got 1 list done!) . There is a prompt each day for the month of September. I am really behind. Just finished Day 1. Here is my picture and my FB post to the 30 Lists group:

I struggled so much with this first prompt that I put it off ... I also wasn't ready with a journal/format for my lists, so I worked on that instead. I'll share more about that when I finish the cover. For now, here is Day 1! I wrote so much I had to fold it up and put it in a pocket. I don't usually write!
I've been wanting to dig out my old manual typewriter, and seeing other's typing here, pushed me to finally do it. And look at what I found! A Valentine typed by one of my daughters to ? Herself? Her sister? Pretty funny that it says Dear Stacy, but then is also signed Stacy, haha! And what about poor Dad? If it is hard to read from the photo, the typing says :

DAD

DEAR
Stacy Happy valentines day.I,m glad your my sister
.Your a very nice sister to have.hope you have a goodya

Stacy Walsh

So, in the letter tucked in the pocket, I write that the reasons to tell my story, are to dig up memories like this and record them. (If I were to give a second reason, it is to play with my crafty supplies!) . I'm guessing the paper was wrapped around the typewriter for close to 25 years! Of course I took a picture and sent it to my daughters, for a good laugh! Luckily there was an unused ribbon in the typewriter case. I installed it and hope to do more manual typewriting!

For Artsy Inkers who like to know Cool The "she said" stamp is Autumn Leaves, the paper and stickers are old, old Basic Gray. I think the very first collection, called Sublime?

Very neat project. Did your daughter remember her note? Did she remember typing on the typewriter? Fantastic memories.

No one said they remembered typing on it. I must not have had it out very long. I showed DH. He smiled and said "now the typewriter is another craft tool"! Yep!

this is a great idea to journal the little things, I probably should do that so my daughter understands why I kept the things I have once I die, I feel sorry for her having to deal with all the things I have saved over the years Smile
