ATC swap at my local ESS "Wine"

I keep thinking I would like to join the ATC swap at my local LSS ... I finally did it. They had a "hang out day" on Wednesday. It's a chance to bring your own project and craft with other people. I used the time to make the 6 ATCs needed for the swap. On my way out the door I grabbed the one stamp I could find and some watercolor paper and of course tons of stuff in case I decided to make the folio kit I've had for a few months, or make more Christmas cards, or ...

This month's theme was "wine" and technique/art supply was "oil pastels". I couldn't find a wine stamp at home so I brought one with grape vines that I picked up in the wine region in NY. I didn't have any oil pastels but the LSS sells a Sizzix kit of 12. They also included the Sizzix oil pastels in an art journaling class from last February, so I went ahead and bought the class so maybe I can learn how to use them! The class kit came with some dictionary paper, music paper, fibers, silver flakes, a piece of cotton canvas and the pastels. Hopefully one day soon I can watch the class on FB. It's geared toward making a page for Elizabeth Craft Designs' 5x5 Art Journal.

Stamp : Magenta (I stamped the image twice, facing each other on watercolor paper)
Background : Lindy's Magical Sifter in Starfish Foot Fuchsia
Tombow markers for coloring the grape vine image
Black oil pastel for edging

I smudged the oil pastel around the edge and was surprised how it picked up the texture in the watercolor paper. It was my first time playing with Lindy's magicals. I sprinkled a tiny bit of powder on a craft sheet, added a bit of water and painted the background on the ATC with a waterbrush. I like the bit of variety of colors in the magicals and the pretty shimmer, hard to capture in a photo.

I had one page of dictionary or encyclopedia paper in the kit and it happened there were names of countries in it. I found France, Spain, Germany, all places that produce wine, so I cut out the words and glued on.
