Dogwood Bird ATC

For the April ATC Swap (faux tile), I started by stamping the bird & blossom image on white CS. I added the lace & cut the piece into 3 unequal rectangles for the tile.

I mounted the tiles on a black CS base cut to ATC dimensions. I added light color with DIs then used Diamond Glaze to 'glaze' the tile. Note the cracks. They occured because I didn't securely tape the base down before glazing. The ATC curled & the cracks happened when I tried to remove the curving.

'Sok. Looks ok even with the cracks.

This is really pretty and I think the pink on the blooms pop a bit more in person. Love the addition of the lace!

I think the cracks work on the piece. But good tip on securing the piece before glazing. I like the lace and the bird image is lovely.

Beautiful! This is so lovley and shabby chic. I like the tiles over the black too! I think the cracks, although unintended, really work with the style.

Ooh, I like the black lace! It looks great with the uneven tile sizes. Thanks for the tip on securing before glazing, but I kind of like your cracks!
