Die Cut Swap-November 2015-Stocking Card

I started with a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. I inked it with distress ink in barn red and gathered twigs. I spritzed some water on the background to make it look distressed.

Then I stamped the holly and ornaments along the top. I then colored the holly with distress stickles. I colored the bulbs using a silver gel pens. I stamped the postage with an inchie stamp and then inked it and stamped it with a postcard stamp. I then stamped the Merry Christmas (Tim Holtz stamp) in archivers coffee ink.

I painted the stocking with distress paint and then inked the edges with gathered twigs. I tied a piece of ribbon around the top and tied it. I then made a hole to hang it and used bakers twine to tie it to the holly. The hexagons are chipboard that came with a Christmas paper pack. I thought the card needed more so added them on the side. I then took a background brick stamp and lightly stamped behind where the stocking hangs. I made the card base out of a piece of Christmas scrapbooking paper.

The stocking and postage stamp are die cuts from Iring.

Thank you for looking.
