AIR16 Vintage Watercolor

I made this card for Jan’s AIR16 Warm-Up Challenge: Vintage Watercolor.
I was inspired by the wonderful tutorial Heather Telford videotaped for Splitcoaststampers (Vintage Watercolor) and the incredible video Karlyn Holman made for Cheap Joe’s (Speedball’s Elegant Writer).

I was going to toss this image because it wasn’t anything like what I had envisioned. Then I decided to do what Karlyn had done with the background using the Elegant Writer. It’s still not great, but I thought it was salvageable. Thank you, Jan, for this challenge. I will definitely strive to improve.

Card:
4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Bazzill Cardstock, from Rootbeer Trio
Spellbinders Nestabilities—Labels Eighteen

Focal Image:
Personal Stamp Exchange—Dogwood, K-1228
Fabriano 140-lb. hot press watercolor paper
Distress Inks—Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap
Speedball Elegant Writer--Black

TFL.

It's a good thing you didn't toss this!! It's gorgeous! The dogwoods look like porcelain. I can't believe you got that much blue out of your Elegant Writer. I love the way you framed it too. I'm so glad you didn't give up! I was just about to PM you to remind you to keep going till midnight your time haha, and here you are with a beautiful card and barely after 9pm where you live!

By the way ... now I'm bummed I didn't buy the dogwood stamp I saw in Michaels today!

Fantastic! Classic Daria blending with a wonderful combo of colors. I do like the green leaves on the next photo. Thanks for playing!

This came out great! I don't know why you would even think it needed tossing! Love the way the colors blended. and the flowers really stand out.

I really like this vintage look too. I am glad it made the cut and not the waste basket. TFS
