Title: BINGO
Post by: stampwilly on September 30, 2014, 01:21:23 PM
Hi Everyone! I am hosting BINGO again for the Inktober Fest. I hope you will join in the fun. I always enjoy the smack talk and fun sentences you make with the words. I think you will have fun with these words.

Here are the particulars on how to play.

There are 25 words and phrases below. You need to pick 10 of them and message me with your list of 10 by Friday, Oct. 3rd by 10pm eastern time. On Saturday, Oct. 4th around 6pm, I will post 3 of the words here on this post. If you have any of them on your list of 10, cross them off your list. I will post 3 each day around 6pm and the first person who has all their words crossed off will need to post BINGO here on this post. If more than one person posts BINGO the same day, I will look at the time to see who posted first and they will be the winner. I will be giving an RAK to the winner. Also there may be some twists later in the game where someone can win a prize also. Can't wait to start! ;D

I'll PM my 10 ASAP!

Nobody but Inktoberfest hosts can see this forum, you might need to post the list in the planning forum with an FYI that the actual bingo post is in the Inktoberfest forum.  Cause the only takers you will have will be the hosts right now.......

I haven't peaked at any of the other challenges, but I had a feeling that I would need to here.  I will pm you my words as soon as I can choose.  I do agree they are odd, but then again, they are oddly familiar.  So what does that tell you about me?....

TY for hosting!

I'm going to have to think about which are the winning words before I send you my list.

Heidi - I think we're all a little odd here. That's why we like each other so much.

I have gotten everyone's words so far. We have 6 playing right now. Yes, these are odd words, but I know you will have fun putting them into sentences! ;D Some were wondering what Tula is. It is a name of a city in several parts of the world. Can't wait to start!

Okay, I don't think I have ever played bingo with April so I do not know how this game is run. Is this where she will post today's words?  Or am I at the wrong place.  She mentioned 6pm EST...is that meant to throw us off and she will post at a very different time?  Any other tidbits a person should know?
Thanks!...Jan

Yes, she will post them here.  And while she does usually post around 6 pm EST, if she is out or something it will be later, and once she even did it an hour early.  I have been waiting for them too.

I'm so happy I'm sprinkling fairy stardust  in ornate patterns all over the fauna ('cuz darn I wish I had flora)!
Title: Re: BINGO
Post by: Craft Nerd on October 04, 2014, 10:25:32 PM
I wonder if you could use stardust like embossing powder or if it is more like glitter?

Title: Re: BINGO
Post by: CarefreeSadie on October 04, 2014, 10:32:27 PM
Star dust is much better than embossing powder because dust is always better than powder.  Oh my stars I have 2 words for BINGO not the 3 I was counting on.

I am going to age myself here but all I can hear in my head is a really old song from the 45 records my grandfather got out of an old bar.....Bingo, Bingo where you gonna goeo, Bingo, Bingo whatcha gonna doeo; does your mama know you're going down the road to see your little girleo?
Title: Re: BINGO

Oh my stars! I didn’t know that 4” of fresh white stuff on all my trees and ground this morning was stardust…now I know all my dreams will come true!  April you are the best…I might manage another 3 helpings tomorrow if you send it on a shovel.
Title: Re: BINGO
Post by: howdyheidi on October 05, 2014, 07:15:01 AM
The stardust came falling down from, what was that? Oh, my stars, of course.

I've got fifty percent of yesterday's words, which is a failing grade...

Post by: Looser on October 05, 2014, 10:21:13 AM
"Oh My Stars.  Nathan (or-Nate) left me a voicemail. He said Stardust is easy to pick up with a Swiffer.

3 out of 4 words. Not a bad start for my winning card.  ::)  'Course it's still anyone's game---yeah, right! :laughhard:

Didn't I win last time?  I seem to remember a certain someone who won two, or was it three, times in a row. I'm going for twice in a row.  What do think my chances are?

Glad you 'got it', Cindi! Too bad I didn't have Peony Blossoms on my (winning) card. I'd have done a number on the word 'peony'--think about it.... ::)

Several of us are neck-to-neck with our word count. Others are nowhere near our 'neck-of-the-words'. Sucks to be them!

But I can see a few 'dark horses' in this race to BINGO Glory.

What has me wondering and trembling in antici....

'pation is Willy's up-coming 'twist/curve'.

Y'all may think our pal April is a perfectly sweet person, but I know that she has a delightful streak of tormenting players in her creative soul! So glad for that!!! ;D

Hey Daniel, I would give you a bonus point for working in a Dr. Seuss reference into your sentence.  O0 Although, I suppose that technically it is a Theodor Geisel reference, since it was from before he became Dr. Seuss.

And I'm right on your and Daria's tail with 3 words.  I'm coming for you.

Post by: Craft Nerd on October 06, 2014, 07:07:04 PM
Myrna does love to use pop dots when she's crafting, but she tends to get a bit messy.   ;D

Daniel - I took a class on the US homefront when I was getting my Masters in History.  We read a book called Dr. Seuss Goes to War about his political cartoons.  Seuss used the Flit add in one of his cartoons - he put Hitler's face on a bugs body.  It was the best required reading ever.

Jan - you have definitely received more than your share of stardust for October.  Thank goodness for a plow guy.

Well, at first I thought I had zilch tonight, but then I double-checked, and I'm now I'm happy--almost as happy when I'm seeing sprinkles of glitter sparkling on my Christmas cards.

SW Lady, didn't you know that we have to draw this game out to the end of the week?  At the rate you're going, the game could end tomorrow!   Now cut that out!

Yikes Jan!  Lots of snow, and I forgot about the darkening days too!  I wonder how your locale compares with Tula?!

Sarah, I'm impressed!  I had no idea what the Flit Daniel was talking about!

4 good words and even better words waiting!

Post by: Looser on October 07, 2014, 10:02:21 AM
LOL, Kathy! Please don't  force me to stop & build a voo-doo figure.

Sarah. Guisel was a very interesting character, for sure. I haven't read that book, but PBS ran a documentary on him some years ago. He seemed to have an abrasive personality, but was wildly creative with both words & images.

Jan. Enjoy your 'stardust'. We call it 'white manure' around here--& we don't say 'manure'. ;)

I have my words pinned on the wall in front of me. Gonna focus on sending Willy vibes to pick 3 of mine today!

Title: Re: BINGO
Post by: Far North on October 08, 2014, 10:32:02 PM
Oh Cindy could you possibly mean these delights???

Dopey: Dopey is the youngest, sweetest and silliest of all the seven dwarfs. He is beardless and can be distinguished from other dwarfs by his green tunic, purple hat, and big ears. He is a loose limbed dwarf who never speaks a word but is a genius at fun and games.

Grumpy: Grumpy is the most ill-tempered and ill-humored of all dwarfs. He has a long white beard and wears a red tunic and brown hat. Though he is tough, craggy and resistant to anything, he is also extremely devoted to Snow White.

Doc: Doc is the only dwarf who wears glasses. He has long white hair and beard, and like Grumpy, he also wears a red tunic and brown hat. Considered as the leader, whenever there is a decision to make, Doc is the one to make it.

Happy: Happy is the most rotund of the dwarfs, and has a short beard and long white hair. The most cheerful of all, he is always found smiling and wearing a brown top and orange colored headpiece.

Bashful: Bashful is the most shy of all dwarfs, and is often seen in his classic pose of shyness, i.e. hands clasped behind back, shoulders slightly raised and eyes upturned. He has a short beard and wears a brownish two-tone tunic and a yellow cap.

Sneezy: Often seen stifling a sneeze by keeping a finger underneath his nose, Sneezy is the dwarf with short beard and a red nose. He wears a brown jacket and orange headpiece.

Sleepy: As the name says, Sleepy is the most sleepy of all the dwarfs, having a forever sleepy look and heavily lidded expression on his face. Often confused between Bashful and Sneezy, Sleepy has a long beard and wears a green top and blue hat.

Love my stamping up dressmaker die. And that my friends is a BINGO,,,,,,,,,

Congratulations!

I have to say I was surprised last night that we didn't have a winner yet.  We usually do by Thursday night I think.

This was definitely not my year!

Hi Bingosneakers! You certainly ran faster than I could last evening!  Wish I would have had a chance to met you before I fell flat!  I certainly apologize if we have met and I have forgotten.  Just wanted you to know I posted about myself in Getting to know you thread-chatty game (http://duhnproductions.com/forum/index.php?topic=385.0). Would love for you to share some comments (real or humorous are just fine too) in hopes that will help me remember next time.  Hope to see you around even more!  Congrats!

No problem Far North. I was on 2 peas and am still getting used to the new "playground". I hope I can figure out how to post my projects here for Inktoberfest. If I don't get them done before the deadline you will certainly see some soon. My laptop crashed so I only have my Nook which makes posting a little more difficult.

As far as beating me in the race I have to tell you I almost missed it. I was soaking in the tub when I remembered to check the list & was yelling at my DH to bring me the paper with my words on it so I could make sure I had a bingo. As I"m typing my post my Nook decides to shut down & do a reboot, ahhhh :tickedoff: I just knew I was going to miss it. The whole time my DH is like what are you doing? He just doesn't get it. :-\

Hi Bingosneakers!
;D  I like that!  It's a good name for her!

That's a good story snickerdoodleart.  That's all you asked for?  Your BINGO list?  Next time I'd go for a glass of wine too.  Did you scream BINGO from the tub?!  :laughhard:  There have been times when more than one person is close and we are waiting to pounce and yell "BINGO" as soon as April gets the words posted.  And sometimes she's mean and keeps us waiting!  ;)

Humph, Willy! I'd rather have you being 'mean' than forgetting about us.  ;D

I got the coolest RAK from April last week and forgot to post it. Cutie embellishments that I already know where to use!

Thanks April!
