So tempted to join, but have to pass this month.
Hopefully next month, Daniel!
-
That's a really cool looking technique. I haven't seen that before!
Sign me up please O0
-
Welcome aboard Pug!! O0
-
I thought I would get a jump start this month, so my envelope is ready now. :)
-
Wow Heidi!! I haven't even started on mine yet. I've been too busy working on your challenge this afternoon ;D
-
So tempted to join, but have to pass this month.
Thot about it & I'd like to join. Working on my envelope now.
LOL on the 'brick wall' technique! The linked one is interesting, but the wall she made is rather a common (bond). I may go for Flemish Bond with a String Course. Glad I took that architecture class back in college. ;D
-
Last day to sign up. It's going to be a fun month O0
-
I want to play. That technique looks really cool.
-
Hooray for Nerd!!! O0
-
Partners have been posted. Looking forward to a great month of stamping O0

OK. I have an address for Sarah (Craftnerd). Good to go, CG! O0
-
I will post my envelope to Daniel tomorrow. :)
-
I will post my envelope to Daniel tomorrow. :)
Great, Heidi. I'm thinking I may have to wait 'til Tues. to get mine in the mail due to the nasty weather being predicted for Mon.
-
Hooray! April, my kit is ready to go. I will email you for your address. I had it in my address book but I cup of coffee got spilled on it and ruined the page so I can't see your PO box # >:(.
-
Awesome LeighAnn!! I just emailed you back O0
-
The kit is out in the mailbox now. I actually made a couple changes to it this weekend. I have a good start on my first project.
-
I came on here yesterday to post that I got your email, April and that I got your kit in the mail. I typed it up but forgot to hit post reply ::)
I colored a couple of the images from my kept kit yesterday and got started on a card from it.
-
My envie for 'Nerd' is in the last stages of being tweaked., Goes in the mail tomorrow (Wed.)
Pug. LOL on the coffee spill in the addres book--BTDT. FWIW? Beer spills, but rarely obscures... ;D
-
I mailed you kit today, LeighAnn.
I've got a plan in mind for my brick wall project, but I probably won't be able to work on it until this weekend. And I think my ATC for Feb's swap will use a bunch of my kept kit items. So I will actually get more than one project done with my kept kit this month. :o
-
I mailed my kit to Sarah today and got mine from Heidi--really like the PPs she included.
-
My first project from the kept kit:

As there was nothing special on TV last nite, I spent my time making a project from my 'Heidi' kit.
It went remarkably well. The only (slight) hesitation on my part was deciding which face of the 2-sided PPs I wanted to have showing. I had lots of fun with inks, crayons, masking, stenciling, dies & stamping. It's a very much 'me' sort of card.
Was going to mail it today, but may hold off until Friday so I can include some other pieces that I'll make today. Most likely for the Feb. Oldies.
-
My kit is finally ready to go to Heidi. I will mail it in the morning after my weekly bloodwork :o
-
Love your card and kit Heidi.
Sarah, I got your kit today! :D :D you were able to pack a ton of goodies in your envelope!
I love all of the images you sent. They're going to be so fun to work with, thank you!
-
Good morning everyone! I haven't popped in here in a while. I was chatting with SarbearSpencer from two peas yesterday and she was telling me that she missed the old KIAE swaps. I asked her if she ever popped in over here and found out she had never found this group. So I'm sending her a link and I imagine you'll see her soon. I need to visit more often.
-
Wow, Heidi, you finished your kept kit piece already.
LeighAnn - I'm glad you liked the kit.
I'm planning on working on my kept kit piece today.
-
I sent off my 'received' kit project on Friday. It was accompanied by a piece for the Feb. Oldies which used more stuff from the same kit. Fun!
Still have to check out Heidi's project & leave praise & comments. Next item on my list today!
-
Hello fellow stampers #> Received a wonderful kit from LeighAnn this morning. Can't wait to work with it!
Heidi, the receipt says that my kit should arrive to you on Monday so be on the lookout O0
-
Finished a piece from my kept kit. Combined it with the February ATC swap, so I will have to wait to post a pic. May start on the kit I received from LeighAnn now O0
-
Hooray! Glad you liked it April.
-
I actually finished both of my required pieces today, but I have tons left over from each kit to keep playing! :smitten:
-
April, the KIAE arrived today! I love everything in it! I sure hope to have time to make a project today or tomorrow!
-
Heidi, I am so glad you liked the kit. I definitely had fun with it. Can't wait to see what you make O0
-
Here is one of the projects I made from the kit that I received from LeighAnn :smitten:
I Love You More Than Ice Cream (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1032&message_id=627a1205c672f08d16f605ad41f5992b&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
I still have two more projects to photo and upload later O0
-
Not sure if Sarah got my envelope yet, but I included my 'wall' project along with the kit stuff--along with a note suggesting she be 'not scared' at seeing the project. :D I'll PM her in a bit.
I had a ball using items from Heidi's 'sent' kit. I did a bit of (teeth) gritting & used the card blank from the kit along with the terrific PPs Heidi included (two-sided, no less! ::)) While I used lots of 'technique' to make this, I was most pleased with using diecut leftovers to make a stencil from the arch. Although it's a bit 'tilted', I like the way it worked. Watch for a thread about the technique soon. ;)
Anyhoo... Here's the card--front (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1028) & inside (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1029)
-
I finished a card just now using my received kit. I just LOVE the images. I hope April will tell me what set they are from. I could probably use some more cute images. This is going to be the Valentine for littler DS. He is going to love it!
http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1043&message_id=4167aef5f87a43a48fd0468e1ad6c8bd&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock
I am working on the requirement of the technique. I have an image picked out but need to refresh my memory about the process.
Daniel, I love what you did with my kit! I am glad you liked the patterned paper. It is pretty neat with the woodgrain.
-
Here is my piece with the brick wall required technique, also from my received kit. Thanks for helping me try something new!

I received Daniel's kit and his fabulous brick wall card. I really want to know what you did to change the texture of the index card. It feels kinda waxy.
I think I know what I want to do with the kit I got from Daniel and I will start on it tomorrow.
I finished my kept kit brick wall project and photoed it. I just need to edit the photo and post it. I will probably post it tomorrow. And I used my kept kit for my ATC and several of my Valentine's. So for a change, I'll have several projects from my kit this month.
-
Here's a piece I made using my kept kit. I combined it with the February ATC swap O0
Little Elephant (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=1049#top_display_media)

Heidi, I love both of your projects! :smitten:
I will have to double check where the stamps are from. I can't remember off the top of my head :-\
-
I received Daniel's kit and his fabulous brick wall card. I really want to know what you did to change the texture of the index card. It feels kinda waxy...
LOL, Sarah! If it feels 'waxy', I 'probably' used crayons, but once I see it again I may have a different answer. With me you never know...
Glad you liked the wall piece. I thot it was ok--but modesty forbids me from 'waxing' proud for it... :laughhard:
-
I figured that it was probably crayons but it is so smooth and even that I wasn't sure.
Here's Daniel's fabulous card:
Daniel's brick wall card (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1052&message_id=d9ad73265ed0d2033571635b58af64bd&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
It is currently on my card shelf above my second craft table. And the colors are perfect with the colors in the room. O0
-
Could it be crayon on a self stick label?
-
I've enjoyed seeing everyone's projects! Great job everyone.
I am transferring my pics to my iPad so I can upload them today :)
-
Could it be crayon on a self stick label?
The sentiment is stamped on an index card (it was one of the items included in the kit). That's why I was so amazed at how smooth it feels. And Daniel messaged me that he thinks it was crayons, but he had to wait to look at the picture to remind himself of what he did. I just don't think I could get such a uniformly smooth coating with crayons.
-
LOL, Sarah. I couldn't remember if I had included the sentiment in the kit. Us 'artistes' have short memories, hain't?! ;D That means I used 4 items from my kept kit. Whoo Hoo!
Thanks for doing the upload, pal. I was able to use it to upload it, too. Feel free to delete your upload if you wish, but no problemo either way. :smitten:
Here's my Wall (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1056) with some how-I-dids--At least the ones I can recall... :laughhard:
Far as the 'satin silky' finish? Yep! It's burnished crayon. It definitely is easier to do the crayon rubbing if the crayons aren't frozen. Lately I put my crayons in the fridge to keep them warm... ::)
-
Since there is praise left on the one I posted for you, I'll leave it up.
-
Here are 2 of my finished projects. I have a brick wall card done and I'm not too happy with it. I feel like its missing something.
Here's an ATC I made from the kit Sarah sent. I love the frog image and her ink smooshed paper she created!
http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1060
And a card from my kept kit. I sent this to my grandma for Valentines Day because I'm pretty sure that's where I get my love of ice cream from!
http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1062
-
LeighAnn - I love what you did with the frog. And your ice cream card is yummy looking.
I so need to post my kept kit project. It is done and photoed. I just have to edit the photo and post it. And I've got my received kit project mostly done.
-
I finally posted my kept kit project:
Brick Wall (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1064&message_id=0e8445d458fed4d2855ccdc4498f529b&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
And here's a pic of my kit:

I also posted some pictures of cards I made with some of the images from the kit on my blog:
Valentines (http://www.craftnerdcreates.blogspot.com/2015/02/playing-with-distress-inks-valentines.html)
-
Sarah, I loved seeing the valentines you created! Thanks for sharing :)
Here is my attempt at the brick wall technique. In the end, I wish I would have stamped my focal image with a darker ink. Live and learn!
http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1074
-
I finally posted my received kit project:
flower heart (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1150&message_id=6e9bd4912ef40bace601dc51c8196ea1&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
The gold ribbon stickers at the top of the picture are not part of the card but I figured I wouldn't be able to explain what they are so I photoed them with the card. Then I realized that I cropped the picture so it looks like they are part of the picture.
Everything on the card is from the kit.
I have another card that I will post tomorrow that I made with the kit.
-
CG gave me permission to post the ATC I made for her for the swap even though she hasn't received it yet. I used several items from my kept kit for it.
Snail ATC (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1167&message_id=7dbedbb5ae4c2ee43037ecd2c6bb7cc1&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
And here is a second card I made with the kit I received from Daniel.
Bird King (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1168&message_id=acd24a50f0f1be788dc82f1971cd2333&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
-
Nerd, your ATC is beautiful. I hope I receive it someday :-\
