Warm up Challenge-January 16-21 2016
« on: January 16, 2016, 04:52:16 PM »
Just for fun here is a warm up challenge.  Layers and More Layers!

Yes this is exactly what it says, layers on cards.  More layers then any card should be made to wear, but it is pretty darn cold here and layers are the way to go.

Pick out 10 pieces of paper, hopefully 10 that go together on the color wheel or accent each other in some way.  They do not need to be full sheets, they in fact can be scraps.  I pulled out a 6 x 6 tablet and used that because most of the time the entire book of paper should be color coordinated.  I pulled out My Minds Eye-Notable.  This one has strips and itty bitty journaling cards and all sorts of goodness.

Instructions continued Here

You can put any cards from this warm up challenge into the Winterfest 2016 album in the gallery using WF16WUL.  Try to have a little fun with this and don't make it too much work.

Thanks.

Your card is wonderful! I am soooo glad you put up this challenge because I need to use more paper scraps on my cards to get rid of them! I will get started soon!

Thank you.  I am glad there is some interest in a warm up challenge.  I didn't know if anyone was interested in one, I was hoping everyone wasn't too busy laying in supplies and rounding up things in preparation for Winterfest.......LOL

I have been anxiously waiting for Winterfest, so I am glad you posted an early challenge! I made 2 cards for this challenge today. I really do need to use more scraps on my cards. I have so many! I love layering but 10 papers WAS a challenge! LOL!

Thank you Yankee for joining in this warm up challenge.  That is a wonderful card.  It is oriental looking.  I really like the different shapes you put together.

For those who would like to give Yankee some comments in the gallery here is her card.

I so need to give this a try.

And your sample is fabulous.  I really like how you added the stickles.

Thanks for the challenge!  I hope to give it a try tomorrow.  I love your sample both ways, just inked, and inked and glittered.  Wonderful submissions so far.

Well this has been harder than I thought.  I am down to 9 and the 10 piece isn't making itself known.  Will post when I find the 10th piece.

Well if you can't find the 10th piece take a piece of white card stock and ink it to match the other papers.........

Ok, here it is.  Found the 10th piece, the Lily of the Valley ..

Card:  http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=2295&message_id=e12e29d49bda64587398faf8039b8843&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock

I scanned and did some contrast - but the color is still not as good as the read thing.

I liked this challenge and may make some more cards like this.  Used papers that I hadn't used before from the 6 x 6 stacks.
