Title: September ATC swap. Partners posted :)
Post by: lovepug2 on September 08, 2015, 11:53:43 AM
Happy Tuesday Inksters! #>

ready for another atc swap? Funny note, when I got ready to post this, I just happened to see I typed in tag instead of ATC. Old habits die hard I guess!

This month is all about fall. Trees, leaves, pumpkins, etc. use whatever image you have that makes you think of fall.
And for this months technique- marker thumping! I think most of us have done this technique before at some point. I know there's several tutorials and videos on it. StampWilly also  had an oldies challenge on it this year and I really enjoyed it.

Sign ups will be open though Friday the 11th and I will post partners on the 12th. Your mail by date will be the 21st.
Hope you'll join in!

Here's the swap list!

Iring to Howdyheidi
Howdyheidi to Carefreesadie

I've never done Marker Thumping, but it's on my To-Do-List.  I'll play.

Thank you.

Ok ladies! I posted the swap list. I haven't started in mine yet. I have a couple of ideas in mind but not sure if this technique will work well with one of the stamps I have in mind.

One thing about this technique, I've only tried it with distress markers and crayola markers. The crayola ones worked really well. Has anyone tried it with alcohol markers?

Awesome!  I think Stampwilly tried something similar with alcohol markers, so I bet it can be done, just is more fussy. I need to think about which stamp I want to use.

Lol, Sadie! You are not alone. It takes me forever sometimes too for small projects. I've been so slow getting things done lately! Lack of physical and creative energy. Hoping I return to normal soon.

Mine went postal today.

Sadie, I am glad you like this ATC.  Funny thing is that DH saw it and really liked it.  He doesn't often remark on the stuff I make.

It was really fun to use the fall colors and distressing.

I'm doing the happy dance!  Sadie your incredible ATC has arrived.  I was excited when I saw the card you sent (Love it!), and then I saw the ATC.  I'm so glad you wrote out how you made this because it's a work of art.  You included so many techniques and details, and they all work together beautifully.  I don't think I've ever seen, let alone received, a shaker ATC.  I hope that when you post this in the gallery, people will be able to see the shine of the the tiny shrink plastic leaves and the glow of the mica pieces / Frantage (?), and the foiled caption.

Thank you so much for this beauty.

Welp, here it is in all it's over processed glory.....LOL!  I am glad you like it djc.

I am sort of glad this was an ATC so I had to stop instead of keep doing more to it.......here it is! (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=1984#top_display_media)

I received my ATC from Iring just a little bit ago.  Such a pretty stamp choice for this technique!

LeighAnn, thanks so much for the wonderful card and ATC!  Even the envelope was stamped and beautifully lettered.  You mentioned you used Crayola markers on the ATC, did you use Crayolas to color the pumpkins on the card too?  Pretty results!

Here is the Fall Sprite ATC (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=1992#top_display_media) I sent to Heidi.

I think the stamp I used worked well with marker thumping.  In the past I haven't been a fan (of thumping), maybe it was the stamp?

I agree that certain stamps do work better than others, although I have seen both line images and chunky stamps used with good results.

I forgot to mention that Cindi sent me her lovely bird card she posted recently in the gallery and some nice little plastic sleeves for ATC's. I did not even know those existed! Thank you!  I am displaying your work on the cork board in my craft cabinet.

I got a beautiful fall ATC in the mail yesterday evening from Daria! It's just lovely! She was also sweet enough to send me some Bristol papers to try! I've got some images I want to test out on them!

You ladies have outdone yourselves this month! I'm loving seeing all of the ATCs!

Heidi, I'm glad you mentioned that about the sleeves. I was in Target late last week and one of my boys spotted something over by the baseball cards and I saw some of them. I always wondered where you could buy the individual ones!

Cindi, I'm glad it arrived safely. I stamped the envelope with archivak ink in potting soil :)
I will get it posted this evening.

I hope to get sign ups for next month up in a couple of days!

Since LeighAnn has received my ATC's, I posted them in the gallery.  Click here. (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1994&message_id=a7a08b451fd16ddfb5d6cf83fd0fa18a&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)

I think I've seen the ones that have been posted, but I'm going to double-check right now.  I love what I've seen so far.

I've had these stamps for 2 years now, it was high time I done something with them. I'm pretty sure this was my first completed project with them
