Do these weeks seem to fly by for you? They sure do to me. I can't believe it is almost August! I think all of us might have done this technique sometime during our stamping years, but I have not done this in a long time, so it was fun to revisit it! Here is the link to the video.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txWB_VEkUYE   Use the heading Creative Challenge - S&W for your heading in the gallery. Please link your card or project here to this post. Have fun!

Much harder than I thought.  Finding solid stamps, it seems I have very few.
Doing the inking with full size ink pads on such small stamps, not easy.
But I did it! Good thing I have grandsons that will like anything grandma does!
The orange stencil is a new stencil, I had to try, I did it in dye ink.  I tried to make it look like fencing.
The blue one looked flat like chinaware, so I added the stencil to give it movement.
Blue one done with watercolor paper.  Other one done with reg paper, color doesn’t move as easy.

I used this technique to make a Christmas card.

Best Christmas Ever

Thanks for the challenge!  I love the soft results.  It was a little extra challenging with only full size distress pads .. and this is an old, clear stamp set so the inks were puddling on the stamp and I had a hard time seeing where I had ink ... but with this technique, and a stamp positioner, it didn't really matter.  I like the way Kristina Werner added splatters to her card ... but I was too chicken!  Maybe if I get a chance to try it again?

Thanks April!  This is a technique I'd like to use again.

Your card is lovely, Cindi. Splatters make the card interesting. I like splatters and I don't know why I did not splatter my card. I will on the other pieces I made! Thanks for doing the challenge.

Sorry finally getting around to posting these.  I think this one that isn't quite a solid stamp turned out nicer just because you can see more of the details.
One of hubby's past co-workers that he still keeps in touch with lost her brother in a motorcycle accident, he was in his 30's, has young kids.

This one is the first one I did and I used one of those waterbrushes and the water came out too quickly and really just blended it all into one blob really, but thought it still looked ok so I used it for another sympathy card for my nephews wife that lost her Aunt at the age of 58.

I finally went with a stamp that was similar to the leaves Kristina used in her video.  I had a lot of fails before this!

Sorry about your need for sympathy cards Connie.  Especially hard, because they were so young.

I found it didn't take much water, but then sometimes I had a hard time moving the color (probably not enough water).  It's a fine line!

Heidi, you were brave to splatter, and it turned out pretty!

My sentiment ended up being popped up on a die cut shape because the ink bled funny when I stamped directly on the front panel.  I stamped again on the smoother side of another piece of watercolor paper and it was fine.  ??? Maybe the paper was damp?  I don't know, but I wasn't going to waste the card front!

I think this technique would make beautiful fall leaves.
