I saw a card this week that caught my eye, and I can't remember exactly where I saw it! What stood out was the color combination, and I thought, "I should try that". So please try it with me! Just to make it a little extra challenging, please use embossing on your card, a little or a lot, heat embossing or dry embossing.
Challenge Requirements : 1. Make a card or project using ONLY the colors black, white and yellow.
2. You must use embossing, heat (embossing powder) or dry (embossing folders, or using a stylus, etc)
3. You can stamp a sentiment but you must stamp something else in addition, for example an image or background.
4. Upload your project to the WF17 gallery with the key word WF17BYW
ETA : Combining with other challenges is allowed.
I will draw the name of a participant (one entry per project) for a small RAK, probably from my stash if I can part with something :-\, haha! What to send, what to send??
Tip : Search Pinterest using "black yellow and white card" . There is a lot of inspiration out there. If you don't use Pinterest you could probably google the same words, or check Instagram.
Thanks for playing along!

Love that color combo, looking forward to working on it. Thanks for hosting!
-
Hmm, I don't know if I've every used this color combo. I know I've done yellow and grey. But I bet this is a rather striking color combo.
Can we combo?
-
Fun colors and I have some ideas!
April
-
Yes, you can combine with other challenges!
-
Great combination of color...can't wait to see the results!

Here is my card for the challenge : http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=3150#top_display_media
I had a hard time getting a good stamp of this, and the embossing looks all bubbly, does that mean my embossing powder has gone bad?

Disappointed in the shine that reflects off the heat embossing.
Very beautiful colour combination. Thanks for the challenge.
-
I'm glad you're liking this color combination. I thought it was striking!
I love your cards Connie and Beth! You both got heat and dry embossing on your cards, not necessary for the challenge but it looks great!
Beth, your cover-up flower worked out really well. I like it there!
Connie, I don't know ... can embossing powder go bad? Does anyone know? I have some pretty ancient powder ... I haven't had a problem that I can remember, but then again I guess it's ancient because I don't use it enough.
Thanks for playing Connie and Beth. I look forward to seeing more yellow, black and white cards ... and I still need to make one myself!
-
I have had an embossing powder go bad and it wasn't even that old. I wondered if I had contaminated it or something.
-
Yes, embossing powder can go bad. I have had some that just wouldn't melt or shine after awhile. Sometimes the ep stinks even though it works well. Not sure why. Then I have had others that work well after many years. I think it has to do with the ingredients in it from the factory.

Cindi, I was posting my card onto my blog and realized it goes with this color scheme, but I made it before we started winterfest, so you don't have to count it, just thought I would share :

Thanks for posting your yellow, black and white cards Yankee and Connie!
Yankee, great job with the texture paste background. Those are some cool cats!
Connie, thanks so much for sharing your card. I love the deep yellow behind the trees that fades out into the sky.

Here is my entry for this challenge, I had a lot of fun stamping this! And for once, I actually only stamped the panel ONE time with no mess ups! I usually mess up a lot!

Thank you Cindi for a fun challenge :-)

Oh and I did this same card but with the image stamped in yellow and could not get it to photograph well either. So your not alone,Heidi! I moved that card all around the house trying to get a good pic! I gave up and just redid it.
-
Thanks for playing LeighAnn! I move my cards around the house trying to photograph too! Sometimes my white card base looks pinkish ... what's with that?! Hmmm ... at one point I had a white card stock backdrop taped together ... I wonder where that ended up?
Sorry you re-did your card. You didn't need to go that far! I'll take your word for it if your photo stinks but your card is terrific, haha!
-
I love this color combo, and the cards everyone has posted are wonderful.

Sarah, I'm glad you were able to post quite a few cards last night! Thanks for taking my color challenge. I love how your foam stamp turned out. Your card looks good in black, yellow and white!
Now I'm off to write names on slips of paper and draw one ...
-
I wrote names on slips of paper, folded them up, stirred them around and out came
Yankee!
Congratulations Yankee and thank you to everyone for playing along!
( I have your address Yankee, unless you've moved in the last year ...)
