SummerFest 2019 - W-Fold (6/1-6/9)
« on: May 31, 2019, 01:06:10 PM »
I recently made another easy fancy fold card.  The blog post where I originally saw this fold did not contain the measurements, and it also used the landscape card format instead of portrait, so I decided to write a super short tutorial to add/change these details.

You can see this card at my blog post, along with the tutorial.  It is simply called a W-Fold Card, for the shape of the pop up feature inside.

https://mylittlestampingblog.blogspot.com/2019/05/w-card-fold-tutorial-get-well-soon.html

This is one of the cards that I am going to be making with my “non-crafting” friends this weekend.

_______________________________

Please use “SF19 - Wfold” for your titles.

Challenge details:

1) Make a card using the fancy fold.
2) Use image stamping both on the card front, and the inside of the card.
3) Share the card the the gallery. You will need to share both the outside and the inside of the card.
4) Please try to link to your card in this thread so it is easier for people to find it.

You may combine.
You may alter the fold, within reason. Such as changing the sizes and widths of things, using a circle die instead of a square, etc.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Inside

I liked the way that April used one of the blocks for her sentiment so I went that way also.
I thought this was quite easy so it was nice to have a fun surprise inside without taking a ton of time to do :)

Connie, I just love your card!  How pretty are those images!

I agree, this is such an easy extra for the inside of your card.  I plan to use it again.

Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed this challenge.  Your tutorial was easy to follow.  I ended up going a little narrower on my inside strip (1.25in) because my circles were smallish.  I followed Sheila's idea to use printed paper inside and add a panel underneath the pop out for the sentiment.  I can see myself making more of these W-folds!

I think this Crafty Secrets fishing buds set (inside) is so cute!  I've used it a few times for my SIL, but have used different images ... There are 2 more kewpie fishing scenes and a few more sentiments.  I've had this set for years, it's dated 2008.  I like the My Favorite Things stamp I used on the front too.  I think it may be the first time I've used it.  I have it stored in a binder, where as most of my stamps are in Fridge bins, so maybe that's why I forget to use it.  I got a kick out of the sentiment thinking about my son-in-law waiting to be a father.

Thanks for the challenge Heidi!

Thank you to everyone who did my challenge!  I enjoyed seeing the different ways you made this fold your own! Thanks for making Summer Fest fun!

I am not sure if there will be an official hangover week, however, if you didn’t have a chance to try this and would like to, please just add to this thread!

Heidi, I enjoyed your fun challenge!  It took a long time looking thru my stamps for the best collection of stamps.
Thanks too for the info on posting with the correct title for the gallery album!

So glad you had a chance to try this, Jan!  I also went through my stamps quite a bit for this fold.  It was a good way to get reacquainted with some of them!  Yours turned out quite pretty!
