Wonderful cards this month!  Thanks April, Daria, Heidi and Melissa!  I struggle with inking embossing folders.  I guess that's why it's called a challenge!  I thought maybe I had a real letterpress plate for Christmas but I guess I don't.  Still, I hope to see what I can do.

I finally made my first Christmas card of the year, thanks to Jan's alcohol ink challenge!  Luckily in Week 2, challenge 5 she shared a link to a Ranger tutorial for a Christmas card.

Alcohol inking challenge Christmas Card

Just two days left in March!  Where did it go?

Sorry I didn't really answer your question Melissa ... you might try a shim to get more color in the depressed areas.  I know with true letterpress I keep reading how very little ink you need ... but then they are using tube inks and they brayer it out in a very thin layer on a piece of acrylic or glass before brayering it on to the plate (or EF).  You could spritz with water if it's dye ink and press on watercolor paper but you will probably get a less precise inking.  Might still be a nice look.

My first Christmas card of the year.

Polar Bears

Thanks for the idea to try letterpress.  This is the first time I've done it.

Sorry, not yet ... I'll try to get one up tomorrow evening.

Happy Easter to all!  Alleluia!  He is risen indeed!
