Here are some supplies you will need for this challenge.
white glossy card stock and/or yupo paper - yupo works a little better but if you don't have it the glossy cs will be fine
Isopropyl alcohol 91% or blending solution
small paint brush
alcohol inks
foiling paper - optional (only need a small piece)
Here is what you do for this challenge. I saw this technique and I have not seen this before and it does make a special effect on your alcohol inked background. First you need to ink up your background with any colors of alcohol ink. You may sponge on your ink, drop the ink and move it around, etc. make your background they way you like the most. Next pour a little alcohol or blending solution in a cup, dip your brush into the alcohol and then tap your brush in dots all the way down your card in a row. Keep making dotted rows over the whole card. You can see what I mean in the backgrounds below. This is optional, but if you have foiling paper, place the foil over the background when the alcohol is still tacky. Press the paper with your hand and then pull off the foil. Foil will be left on the tacky areas to add shimmer. Just a heads up. If you are adding foil, remember to place the dull side of the foil onto the card. It won't work if you lay the shiny side down onto the card. After you make your backgrounds, please make a card with one of them and please use at least one stamp on your card. Load your card in the gallery under Inktoberfest 2021 with the heading of INK21 Special Effect. Please link it to this post so that we will not miss it. I will give an RAK to a randomly chosen person. Have fun!

I hope the 91% alcohol is easier to find now. I ran out during the pandemic and it was sold out everywhere. I will take a look at cvs. Thanks for posting the supply list ahead.
-
Heidi, you could use blending solution if you have it. That might be easier to find too! LOL!

Thanks I think I have it all :)

Ive got all the supplies. I'm intrigued!

This is truly gorgeous.
Is foiling paper the same as deco foil?
Thank you for hosting!
-
Yes, Heidi.

Boy oh boy, I had forgotten how to do this, the Alcohol ink part. I think it’s been over a year, thanks April for nudging me back.
Any I did lots of them, but I picked this one because it was lighter and that worked better with the flowers.
The gold foil doesn’t showin photo but it is there!
I used a new to me die set I got when I went to Hobby Lobby this past week and have been cutting and coloring ever since. So I used the big bee here and the small bee in the other challenge.
-
April, I am using the darker prices of Alcohol ink panels for another project for Halloween.
Thank you again.

Yankee, your background is lovely! It goes great with your bee. I would love to see your Halloween cards too! Thanks for doing the challenge.

April, this challenge was fun. Once again, I used dies I purchased months ago and never used. I did have trouble dripping alcohol in a straight line. Mine kind of went wonky. LOL. Thanks for a great challenge.

Pretty backgrounds and card, Beth! Thanks for doing the challenge. I love the trees on your card.

Just a hint, making little taps with the brush onto the background in a row helps to get a straighter line. I should have said that more clearly in my instructions. Thanks for those who have tried my challenge. Your backgrounds and cards are great!

I cut a piece of 5x7 piece up yupo in half so I did two backgrounds and cards

Here is my second background, I think I like how the first blended better and you can't see the foiling as well with this color I used

I had done the foiling before but never with the Rubbing Alcohol so this was interesting
-
I didn't see your tip in time April. I couldn't get my drips of 91% alcohol to fall in straight lines. I tried two different brushes and a coffee stirrer! The drips are there, but they are somewhat scattered!
Like Yankee, I haven't had my alcohol inks out in ages! It was fun playing with them again. At first I had a hard time knowing when the alcohol ink was dry enough, yet still sticky enough for the foil to stick. It's a little tricky.
I'll add a link to a card once I finish.
Backgrounds
reds (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=5551#top_display_media)
green and blue (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=5552#top_display_media)
I really like the star patterned silver foil I used on the blue background but it is probably tough to spot in the photo.
ETA :
Here is my card. I think I caught the stars in the foil this time but the right side of the card is washed out. Hard to photograph foil!
