Christmas All Year - February 2023
« on: January 31, 2023, 10:06:53 PM »
Your prompts for this month should be easy.

1.  Make Christmas cards with a deer or reindeer on them.
2.  Continued from last month : if you have a new stamp or die that you didn't get a chance to use last year, use it!

Have fun!  Don't forget, it's a short month!

I'm curious to see how many reindeer I have, between stamps and dies ... If you want to have fun with this, put reindeer antlers on another animal!

I am not sure if I have a reindeer, I know I have plain deer, maybe in some ephemera.

Connie, that's fine.  I said reindeer, but actually was thinking "deer".  I'll change the prompt.

I have plenty of deer! This is right down my alley. I also have some new things I can use too.

Thanks, April

Here are 2 cards so far! I have plenty of deer cut out for cards! Hubby likes for me to make deer cards for his hunt club members.

Here are my other 3 cards! I was using a photo editor and then a message popped up that I had used my daily free amount of photos and it wanted me to pay for it now and it was supposed to be a free photo editor. Soooo, I downloaded another one and had to get used to it and find where my photos go! I think I have it figured out now. Gee Whiz!

April, thanks for posting your deer cards.  The guys will love them, or anyone for that matter.  I love the pine embossed vellum piece!  Coloring embossed pieces from the front always seems risky to me ... I stray off of the raised parts.  I would like to try your technique.  I bet you can get lots of use from your new Rubbernecker frame stamp, not just Christmas.  You don't usually mass produce, but I bet that card would be a good candidate.

Sorry to hear of the editing issue.  Bummer!  I've just been editing right in my phone's picture app.  Always a learning curve with new software.  Looks like you picked it up really quick!

Wonderful cards!  I love seeing what you make.

Finally getting around to posting my Christmas cards, the deer dies is a set I just recently bought and the stamp is one April was getting rid of and asked if any of us would like it.  I embossed two on watercolor paper and then did one of these stamped on regular cardstock and the embossed ones were so bad that I threw them away so this one can only be stamped normal.

That is such a cute deer die Connie, and a beautiful winter scene stamp.  Do you think the scene would emboss better on smooth cardstock? Or maybe the smooth side of watercolor cs?  I'm wondering if the texture messed up the embossing?    You probably tried that.  Such pretty cards though.

I see that you found the "Christmas All Year 2023" album in the gallery.  I just got notice from Sadie that she was able to do it.
We can start putting our Christmas cards in there from now on.

Well these are for my other groups challenge which was anything snow.  I used the tim holtz dies that simon says was offering last year if you bought Tim's stuff.
The tag is one I made for my journal last year and shared it for those girls that don't have snowmen dies they could make their own, I don't write down any of the supplies I use for my journals I just create, so if there is anything you are curious about I can look it up :)

I have two cards I made while “cleaning” my desk today.  I actually had some of the pieces done, just needed to be finished up.  The ephemera and the stamp is something I purchased after Christmas from Michael’s for some huge discount.

I think I made some other cards this year but maybe that was December and I never photographed them. . .

Maybe they will turn up!

Yep Heidi, cleaning up always makes me want to stop and finish up the projects that are left out.  Your cards are really cute.  The background stamp and ephemera look like they are meant to go together.

Connie, beautiful snow themed cards.  I'm so glad you linked here.  I haven't seen wonky circles I don't think.  They make a great snowman ... or did you fussy cut a regular circle?  Also, I'm wondering about the tag.  Did it come with the little bits taken out of the sides?  It's such a unique tag.  I really like it.  You don't have to research the brands.  Just wondering.  I guess we could do that to any tag, right?

Only 1 day left in February.  Will I get any Christmas cards made?  Not looking good at the moment, but I'll see what I can do.
