My life is cluttered right now so the only thing that appealed to me as I thought over possible challenges was a Clean & Simple Challenge. (Be grateful; my first idea was to make a card that only used neutral colors!)
If you need ideas, you can see lots of cards on the two blogs I linked beow, but your task is to take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy making a Clean and Simple Card that you will be proud to send to someone you care about.
• This challenge will run from Saturday, May 30 through Sunday, June 7.
• Your card must include stamping, and it must follow the CAS guidelines listed below.
• Please post your card in the gallery set aside for AIR, and put AIR15--CAS in your title.
• Don’t forget to come back here to leave comments and link to your card.
• Combining this challenge with another one is not allowed this time.
• I’ll draw a name from my trusty old hat to determine who will receive a RAK at the end of the challenge.
Clean & Simple cards can have layers and embellishments. However, those elements are limited; they don’t take center stage or overwhelm the design. From the different sites I’ve checked out, the important thing seems to be to have lots of empty space where the eye can rest. Here are the hints posted on CAS-ology. I thought we could use them for this challenge. They are similar to the ones used by
Addicted to CAS.
According to
CAS-ology:
"Keep these things in mind when creating a CAS design:
• One main image
• Lots of open space (uncluttered)
• Limited layers and embellishments
• Quick and easy to recreate"
Sample Card (from 2005)I look forward to seeing what you make. Have fun.
