Title: CHA 2016 Chatter
Post by: howdyheidi on January 04, 2016, 09:42:45 AM
CHA starts January 7th.  Anyone heard of any good sneak peaks?  I saw a Pinterest Board I can't figure out the direct link to...

Did you see any products that are exciting to you?  Do you like the trends?

From the paper collections I saw, they were mostly bright, geometric patterns.  I thought that was interesting since the Pantone colors were pastel.  I guess they do not always go along.

I think the Jillibean Soup Shape Shakers look fun: http://jillibeansoup.typepad.com/my_weblog/2015/12/sneak-peek-2-take-two-shape-shakers.html

Is PinkFresh stamps new?  The style looks like Heidi Swapp to me:  http://pinkfreshstudio.blogspot.com/2015/12/reveal-day3-clear-stamps.html

Lawn fawn is doing sneak peeks:  http://lawnfawn.blogspot.com/2016/01/cha-sneak-week-2016-day-1.html

Thank you for posting these, I was just thinking it should be about time for the big CHA16.  I went and looked at some of the links on the scrapbookupdate link.  The Finnebar metallic acrylic paint looks kind of like what the Twinkling H2Os do on paper.  I already have a bunch of the Twinkling H2Os so will be passing on that.  The Finnebar brushes with the spatula thingy on the end is also a pass for me.  Those just look uncomfortable to use.

The Pink Fresh started sometime during 2015.  One of the youtubes I watched sometime along the way the person used a set of their stamps.  I get the feeling their new stamps as shown on the sneeks are more for daily planners or the scrapbooking in project life type scrapbooking.  I am not really interested in those either, even though I do use that format for extra photos in my scrapbooks.

I certainly hope this trend keeps up because I don't see anything I want to buy so that is a good thing.......It will be interesting to see what Ranger brings this year, Ranger is always the company that sucks me into their new stuff.  Also We R Memory keepers sucks me in too.  I love their punch boards, LOL!  And the fuse, and the minc, and the foil pen, and, and, ect........

Some of the new paper is pretty but I have been not buying paper unless its a really good markdown.  I just don't use it that much anymore.  For card making I like the 6 x 6 pads because the pattern is scaled down from the 12 x 12 paper.  I most times start out a scrapbook page by using gesso over whatever pattern is on it so I have been using up paper better.  I just pick one that the colors are close, tone it down with gesso and then use embellishments and color from whatever I have picked.

Paper artsy hasn't uploaded any sneaks or peeks, I really am not sure if they come over the pond for CHA or not.  I know they release some new things usually after the new year but they haven't yet.  The only place I have found their stamp sets is at Simon Says and the prices keep climbing up towards $30 so they are getting a little expensive for me.  I guess I am pretty darn loyal to Paper Artsy, Ranger, and We R Memory keepers.  I have had good results with their products which created this loyalty.

Anyway thanks for posting these, I will keep looking at Paper Artsy and Ranger and see if they release any sneeks, but CHA starts the 7th so hopefully the demo videos will start showing up on the youtubes for my watching pleasure soon.

Sadie what do you think the most versatile punch board is?

I also look forward to what Ranger has in store. I would hope new dye ink colors, since that line is slim.  (Ps, I see a sneak peek on their blog, but it is for jewelry making (ice resin?) so hopefully they will do more this week.

Yes, I don't usually buy a lot of paper either, but  good masculine papers or versatile kid papers could be a good addition to my collections.

I wonder if the cost of going to CHA keeps some of the smaller businesses from attending.

SOOOOO, I went to Michaels today to get out of the house and to browse the Christmas clearance.  I had to put some of the Christmas stamps back (They were 80% off) because I saw they have a new stock of the Jillibean Shape shakers products that I linked to earlier!  I got the cards with the die cut opening (which are a nice speckled white), one stamp set and one of the shaker pockets.  They were each $3.99.  And I had a 40% coupon for one of them.  Really good price for some cute stamp sets and I figure I might have a circle die at home the same size as the cards.  I did not need any sequins or anything since I have some.  Such a fun product and they are priced well and would be good for a beginner or someone who just wants to do a few cards.  I am going to use them for Valentines.

The most useful We R Memory Keepers punch board is still the envelope board.  I have had that the longest and use it the most.  Now they have the 1-2-3 punch board which takes the place of the envelope board and several other boards, if I wanted to cut down on the amount of boards I have I would get that one and give away several of the others.  I am not sure which boards other then the envelope board it replaces tho.  The flower board is fun, the kids enjoy getting new flowers for some of the Holidays.  The box board is useful for Halloween and Valentines day when I give each family member a small box of candy.  The pinwheel board is also fun for the kids but the straws that they sell for the handles are wax coated paper and don't hold up so well, I wish they would come out with plastic straws that fit the pinwheel end.  I tried buying other plastic straws and they aren't the correct size and really there is no adapting them to work.  I also have the large format template studio but not all the attachments yet.  That makes really big sized boxes, pillow boxes, stars, and whatever attachment you purchase for it.  I have been lucky to pick most of these up on sale or with 40% off coupons.  I probably wouldn't be into these so much if I didn't have 16 of use to make stuff for and enjoy making different things for the different Holidays.

I think I have mentioned before that I love tools.  I spend more money on tools and the products to use the tools then I do on embellishments.  That is the part of crafting I enjoy.

I went and watched the video for that Ice Resin on Rangers youtube channel......I have to say I am not interested in using resin.  It just looks like too much work when I can use Glossy Accents or Diamond Glaze or use the melting pot with UTEE.

I used to really like the Technique Tuesday stamps, they had some wonderful large stamp sets back in the day, I don't see them for sale much anymore.  I think I will head on over and take a look to see what they have now.

THanks Heidi for starting this thread and sharing what you have found.  Sadie it is always fun and helpful to hear your point of view on crafty tools. That is usually one of the areas that I let you and other folks try out the products before I buy.  Space wise and $$ I hold back in the tool area.

Somehow years ago I got a bad feel with We R Memory Keepers so long ago I don't remember the details but I know I bought some tools that didn't function properly and had to take them back.  Anyways with that and their gobbling up smaller businesses I hesitate.  But after saying that I have recently tried 2 of their Next Generation embossing folders that add different style of 3-D dimension.  So far they are all geometric designs so the light hits a plane of the design it looks naturally shadowed and dimensional. A cool different look but geometric is not my favorite.

Looking forward to seeing what else is new.
...Jan

Thanks for the thread, Heidi!

Heidi, those jillibean shakers look really fun! I haven't seen those before. I do have a couple of stamp sets from them that I got years ago at a yard sale. They don't stamp very well so I hope yours are better than mine. I do remember reading that they had changed manufacturers in the past couple of years.

Sadie, that resin stuff looks like a mess! I don't have any of the punch boards. I've come close to buying the envelope maker and the one that makes the small gift box but resisted due to space.

I've seen a lot of planner and project life stuff. I know planner decorating seems to be the new craze.

Lawn fawn has some cute stamps releasing. With the exception of Christmas pattern paper, it's been over a year since I  purchased any. That said, I LOVE their new plaid paper pack and will be adding that to my wish list!

I've got shaker pockets from Impression Obsession that I never use.  Although the Jilibean ones look deeper than the IO ones I have.

I wish I hadn't read LeighAnn's post because I hadn't seen the new plaid Lawn Fawn paper and I'm a sucker for plaid.  And the tighty whitey stamp in that laundry set is too funny.

There are definitely some TH Sizzix releases that I'm interested in.

I just need to stop look.  I don't need any more stuff.

I did a search on the youtubes for CHA 2016 sneak peeks and found this little gem.  I actually watched the entire video.  I love these pop up cards but really I would only make one or two and then the dies would just sit around for ever.  Cake pop up card sneak peek Elizabeth designs. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdLdm_OVyPo)  I haven't heard of Elizabeth Craft Designs before but here is one that is being showcased for CHA 2016........enjoy!

I know Daria uses a lot of Elizabeth Craft Designs.  That die is cool and I do see how you could use it for lots of birthday and wedding cards.  In the YouTube I saw there are two other specialty card dies.

I know Art Impressions and Stampendous also do pop up and specialty card dies, so maybe they will have new stuff too.

Also, thanks to Jan for posting the online TV link. I hope to have time to watch when it is on!

Craft Nerd, Jan gifted me some of the impression obsession shaker windows.  They are thinner than the Jillibean soup ones.  I hope to make some cards with both of them in the next couple days to compare.  Actually, the thicker ones may not be reasonable in the mail!  I planned on hand delivering them as Valentines.

There is a lot of planner stuff, LeighAnn.  I think it looks fun but don't want to spend my creative time that way. Technique Tuesday has some good stuff for that with a low price point, I saw.  I have said it before that I like when the stamp companies expand the uses for stamp to new areas!  I think that is good for everyone.

NEW FIND;
Avery Elle sneaks. The stamp sets are very cute, like Lawn Fawn stuff.  I like the balloon animal one.  I saw Stampin up has a cute new stamp set that is build your own balloon animal, so maybe this is a new theme for stamps.
Bigger news for them is that they are going to do their ink line in dye in addition to the pigment inks(which I own).  I doubt I would buy many inks but their pigment inks are LOVELY colors.  http://blog.averyelle.com/search/label/CHA%202016

I am disappointed about the lack of demo videos coming out of this CHA too.......Nothing much on the youtubes at all.  I was hoping Ranger would be uploading some of their demo videos but so far nothing.  How are they going to get the pre-orders on things if nobody does the demo videos?

Maybe there will be videos over the weekend?  I have no idea, but yeah, I really liked those demo videos.  TwoPeas did great ones and so did the Paperclipping people, both of which we know won't be doing them...

Just an update here.  The stamps are made by Hampton Arts and are the cheap clear stamps.  I was able to stamp fine with my Avery Elle Pigment inks and Versafine. I tried a Hero Arts Shadow ink and it was okay, but not as nice as I wanted. I forgot to try my chalk inks.  If you are interested, let me know and I can PM you how they work with other inks as I try.

The pockets really would need to be mailed in a padded envelope or hand delivered.  They also use quite a bit of sequins to fill them up because they are so big.  The will affect how many more I buy in the future, but one could still use the stamp sets and acetate for the windows, too.  Still a cool product release.

I just saw a video from BLitsy and it showed Ken Oliver's new metallic colorburst.  It looks like they are wet instead of a dry powder.  I don't have any colorbursts and it also seems that they are bringing out 12 new colors this year.

Search page for CHA2016 on the youtubes. (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=CHA+2016)  Scroll down to find the Ken Oliver videos, there are at least 3.  So apparently the videos are starting to come out from CHA 2016.

Well, we all wondered what was going to be new in Distress and now we know:
http://rangerink.com/cha-sneak-peeks-day-5-new-tim-holtz-distress-products/
Distress crayons and picket fence ink pad.

The distress crayons I think are going to be popular, but I just got the Prima ones, so I do not need them.  I wonder what the price point will be because the Prima ones were very affordable.

But, I bet there will be a lot of new technique videos now.

I will be looking for a video for these and the white ink pad.

That is a great find! TFS!  I really like how Stampendous has a very wide offering of stamping and stencil products for all types of purposes.  I really liked the Spring stackers stamp set which is putting a cute animal head on whichever shirt and shoes etc that you want.  There was also an interesting product I had not heard of called Class Apeal stickers on page 109 that I wonder what they are...

Thanks Heidi!-I enjoyed seeing Ken Oliver's new Mediterranean colors!  But I didn't see a clear enough to get a good feel for the metallics.

I wish the camera person would have shown a longer view of the metallics on the paper and tilted the paper more to capture it in different lighting.
Also I was disappointed that the Altenew didn't show their new stamps...looking at framelits truly does not give me any idea of the details.

The booths open this morning at 10am PST so I expect that we will be see lots more video later today.

Heidit-The online Stampendous Catalog includes all their products.  There is a magnifying tool below the open catalog which will help in reading the details of the description at the top on the page...once in magnifying mode the page will freely move so you can see the desire portion. Class Appeals stickers are an olderr product. They are vinyl stickers which often have holographic elements and can be colored with permanent markers. One could use the dots as alternative to sequins, pearls, buttons etc.

There is a video on the youtubes showing the crayons heat tool thingy.  It does look interesting, I wonder if they put something special in the color pods for the heat tool thing or if one could use plain crayons?  I would imagine that everybody has a Baggie full of old crayons this tool could add new life to if the price point was low.

I also saw that the chameleon pens are adding 30 new colors.......I thought the idea behind these were you didn't need so many different ones to get a lot of colors.  So now they are up to 50 colors which would be just like buying spectrum noir pens.  They did show a new chameleon color book made out of poster board for using the alcohol pens.

Far North I have Create and Craft on and they are talking about the CHA show and are showing Tattered Lace supposedly from CHA.  I was hoping they would show the actual show but not so much, it appears.

I watched the periscope Ranger had on Periscope from Tims class, Dinas class, and a little bit from Dyans class.  They also have a jewelry class on periscope.  After breaking down and installing the periscope app, the Twitter app (because they are hooked together) I have come to the conclusion that periscope is bad, bad, it's too far away and the voices sound like they are down a tunnel.  I really hope some one puts youtubes up of the demos today.

I saw a YouTube from "crafts from two" I think was their name about the different new Mistis.  The large format one looks huge, just huge!  The smaller one didn't look that much smaller then the original one.  But I was so impressed with the size of the large one that anything next to it would look small.

I know that this show is supposed to be for the business owners but if we don't get to see the new stuff how will they know what to get that we like?

Sadie, I am glad you tried periscope so I do not have to.  I didn't want to get a Twitter so I gave up earlier.

Also, I did hear them say in one of those crayon heat tool videos that you can use regular crayons, but their crayon in the tub was just an easier way to pick it up with the tool.

I had the same thought with the chameleon pens about why are there so many colors.  $$$$$. Lol.  But I did like their coloring book ideas with good paper.

Jan, thanks for the info on the stickers.  I was interested because it said you could use them inside and outside?  but what you described makes sense.

I have some of the class appeal stickers that have been sitting in my stash unused for years now.   :-\

I really need to stop clicking on the links.  I don't need any more stuff.

Heidi - thanks for the info on Jillibean shakers.

On those pop-up card dies, if you have a silhouette, you can get pop-up card cut files.  Way less expensive and all they take up is computer space. I used one for fireplace pop-up card this Christmas that worked really well.  And it was only $0.99.  So there is less guilt if you only use it a couple of times.

Sadie, retailers are buying products for their store these next 3 days at the show.  But if you have an LSS you certainly can have a conversation when they get home if they ordered you favorites and if not they can include your favorites in their next order.  Many of the products are not ready yet and will not be shipped for several months.

Thanks for the periscope review.  This morning I was trying to find how to view it from my computer...now I am not so interested.  I watched one a couple months ago and I found it too time consuming to watch a lot of trash that would have been edited if it was You tube video. The vendors are have training on using periscope after the exhibits close...so maybe next year will be better.

I don't understand the ranger crayons...the look kinda like sharpie markers with their caps.  The release says they are water reactive which seems odd if they are made with a wax base (but that part is only my assumption if they are called crayons.  Please share if anyone sees more details on them.

I really like Ranger's mini stain sprays (although I prefer the dauber tops) and paints but I am disappointed that I already have enough that it will be an organization hair pulling moment to combine the sizes.

I would assume the distress crayons are like the neocolor IIs in that they are water soluble.  It will be interesting to see the price on these and how they compare price wise to neocolors.  The only difference I can see is that they will probably match the distress colors.  And the distress colors will be sold in sets, the sets again, I wonder if they will go to open stock after they sell enough.

Far North no LSS anywhere around here, the closest one is 150 miles away.  So I won't be having a conversation with the owner which is why I like seeing the CHA videos so I can see the new stuff in action.

Create and Craft has shown the CHA floor twice now but it was from an upper level and looked like a drones eyeview......LOL

I am watching a periscope now from Sixxiz with the Vagabond2.  The new one had all metal gears......and overload protection.  I did figure out a person can hide the chat in periscope so the chat doesn't take up half the itty bitty screen.

I am assuming that the distress crayons will be a watercolor crayon, like the ones we were discussing here: http://duhnproductions.com/forum/index.php?topic=747.0

I am not sure we put the Caran Dauche Neocolor II in that list.  If I remember correctly that one is a higher end artist grade of the watercolor crayons, according to the Frugal crafter.

Glad to hear you are getting a little more out of Periscope.  I watched some of the Altenew on the Create and Craft tv, and they did have demos, but not of anything I haven't seen before. I do like their ink lines, but am not really in the market for inks, unless Versafine expanded their colors. Which I looked them up and it doesn't look like they did.

Hero Arts has its new catalog up on its blog, but the blog is being super twitchy this morning and I've yet to be able to actually see the catalog.

So sorry Sadie, I am still having my head in the sand about the impact of not having the great demo videos we had in the past. Now I recall the years prior to CHA videos when I made several bad purchases due to the lack of essential information.  My only LSS was 350 driving miles one way and she closed last summer :(  Guess we have to hang-on until the companies release their own videos and tutorials and slide with another layer of change.

Thanks Heidi and Sadie for your watercolor crayon comments!

I am interested in these Plaid products for mixed media.  I thought the paints they were talking about would be good for stamping, since they say they don't obscure your black line.

It is nice! I always like Hero Arts!  My first stamps every were made by them and I still like them.

I see new Ombre Neon inks, New Bold Hybrid Ink pads,  New cubes of ink that are 4 colors (Cannot be separated)
I like some of the color layering stamps, I definitely love the Lia Griffin Clear and Cut outs that are an ornament die plus the sentiments stamp set.  They are really expensive though, but might be worth it.  Actually I like her little stamp sets too, just a 3x3 inch size could be fun if you like the theme but don't need a huge set of it.

I didn't think I was going to like them, but I do like the Paper layering dies, where you don't cut out a shape, but cut and then push up the paper to reveal the paper under.  They are pretty neat.  I like the heart one in the monthly kit a lot, but I passed on the kit because the sentiment set is not something I would use.

I think this is the Tim Holtz video you have been waiting for:

Tim Holtz Ranger products at CHA 2016 (http://youtu.be/g2Lhe0DPkVk)

I guess the Distress Crayons are a little different than my Prima crayons because he says that you cannot stamp with them.

YES! Heidi this is what I wanted to see about the new Distress Crayons...Thanks so very much!  This morning I was thinking it might be weeks maybe months before this video release.  Thanks for sharing it here...the crayons have several different characteristics...enjoy watching the video.

Dittoing Jan's TY for the video, Heidi. The 'crayons' are very intriguing--doggone them!

Don't think TH shared what other materials than paper they work on, but may have missed it if he did. Don't mind too much that they don't work for loading stamps, but I'm sure many of us crafty stampers could figure out how to make that happen. ;)

Daniel, I know he said they will work on metal, but no, he did not get into it.  He did have a time limit.  The price is a bit steep, I think.  $12.99 for the set of 6.  But with Distress, I am sure they will sell like hot cakes.

Tanx, Heidi. If they work on metal, I'm betting they'll work on other non-porous materials like glass & plastic, but may need sealing to preserve them on non-porous stuff.

Oddly enough, I don't find the price steep for a '6 pack'--depending on the shelf life & such. Figure they might do a price break if you buy the entire range of currently available colors, but not sure how Ranger &/or thinks when it comes to marketing. Might just do a bit of searching & see what I can find out.

I need to stop looking! I haven't seen a ton of stuff that has sparked my interest but I do have a little wish list started.

Heidi, that's good to know that you were able to get a good impression with chalk ink. It's weird, I have a couple of stamp sets from Hampton arts that stamps fine but the jillibean ones dont.

I really like those crayons. I think they would be fun to try out.I'm wondering if Joanns or Michaels will carry them?
I just watched this video on Spectrum noir products.http://youtu.be/UD_KPfri2_U

I like that they are offering different nibs on markers for you to choose, plus the price is good.

New watercolor pencils. A bit pricey. I would love to see more about the oil based pencils.

Sandy Allnock created lots of periscope videos at CHA.  Today her blog post (http://sandyallnock.com/wrapping-up-cha2016/?utm_source=Subscribers&utm_campaign=c378d20bc7-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e84d) is a wrap-up summary of her periscopes and information she gathered...lots of little things I hadn't caught in the first round of videos posted here. I was particularly interested in a periscope video of Tim demoing distress crayons (https://katch.me/sandyallnock/v/43fd7344-86ee-3538-8c44-0ba80c2569f3) and the new Picket Fence distress ink pad.

Once you open Tim's video know the it begins as he ends a demo on yupo paper.  It very noisy and is at distance so you might want to skip that portion as well as he signs tote bags and gives attention to the infant.  The distress crayons begin then.

If you want to see any other periscope videos that Sandy still has posted click on her name below the video and a slide view of her available periscopes will come up.  Just click on them to open.

Here is a link to ScrapTime (https://www.youtube.com/user/ScrapTimeVideos) videos.  They did quite a few at CHA16.  They are not interviews, like paperclipping used to do, but they are pretty good videos.

Thanks for the heads up on where to start watching Sandy's periscope, I was able to fast forward past the baby and bag signing!

I'm not that impressed with the crayons, unless you really want all the matching distress colors.  I understand why Tim didn't want to answer questions naming names (I guess he can't be expected to know how neocolors act, or gelatos ...), but that's what we'd like to know!  How do they compare?  I'm sure there will eventually be some videos on that.  They just seem like another Ranger copy of something that's been around for a while.

I am anxious to find a demo on the Yupo paper, only because I already have a pad of Yupo.  His Yupo may be a convenient size, but I'd be surprised if it is really less expensive than cutting up your own Yupo.  Maybe with a coupon?

From what I can gather watching the demos, many demos on those crayons.......The biggest difference between the distress crayons and let's say neocolor IIs is that you can use the distress crayons with distress ink and spray the water over the ink and the distress crayons won't move or react unless you use your finger or a brush to move them.  They will just sit there.  The crayons appear to be more of the consistency of gelatoes only creamier.  I have a few gelotoes and can never get a good result with them.  I can use them with lots of water or dryer but there is no medium amount of water that works well for me.  These distress crayons seem to spread in a creamier way then gelotoes.

Neocolor IIs are more a regular crayon.  You color them and they act like a Crayola color, add water and they act like a watercolor, depending on the paper you use sometimes the neocolor IIs leave a scraping of color where you originally put them that doesn't seem to go away until you use a great amount of water to move it and then they seem to wash out.

So from what I can understand the distress crayons are creamier then gelatoes, blend nicer then neocolor IIs, and can react with water if moved with a finger or brush but won't react with water if just sprayed.  So really they are kind of the inbetween in the color world and of course they work with the other distress products.  The distress crayons also seem to be full of pigment so even if you do spray with water or use a waterbrush you won't loose the intense color even when blending.

I think the name of distress crayons have thrown people for a loop.  Because they really aren't what I think of as a crayon, they are a different substance then crayons all together.

LeighAnn, the new markers from Spectrum Noir are really interesting!  I will be looking forward to hearing more about them.

That video from Sandy Allnocks periscope really was a better video on the distress crayons.  It does describe how it is not an oil pastel, but is "something else."  I think I heard Tim say something about a resin, so maybe that is what it is.  I am sure someone who really understands how the art products are made is going to tell us what it is eventually.   When Sandy gets some, she can tell me if I need to try them because she has just been doing videos with the Prima crayons.  Until then I am going to try to stamp over them, do that technique when the stencil and the baby wipe and see how it resists.  (ETA: Definitely would have to emboss if you stamped over the Primas, and then only some inks worked.  The stencil baby wipe worked the same, and the Primas seem to resist when water colored also.). The distress crayons do look better for some things because they won't smear as easily.  For a card, that could be important.  I have been wondering what product to use for seal in an oil pastel.

I do think it sounds like Tim is really having to "Sell" these crayons where many other products seem to sell themselves.

I am impressed with the Picket Fence distress ink, I think that might be fun to add to the distress line.

Also I am glad the Yupo will be available in the smaller sizes so I can try it.  It looks fun.

And the crazing medium looks really fun.

Sadie-thanks for your list of distress crayon features.  I agree the use of "crayon" in their name is confusing.  I was surprised about your comment regarding the Neocolor II loosing its color when really wet.  They are so expensive I expected that the color would stay strong.  Appreciate you sharing!

Tim and the other Ranger designer rarely make any type of comparisons to other products.  Developing and testing new products takes immense time. It's is a slippery slope to make comparisons and potentially make an error when you know your own products far better than a large groups of other "similiar products".  It begins to start sounding like a bad political campaign...I personally prefer that be left to folks who are not affiliated with the companies.

Ranger and some of the other ink companies have "secret" recipes or ingredients that are not shared with the general public.

Yupo paper is expensive...remember it is not paper...it is polypropylene-a plastic.  I heard Ranger's 5x7 packets will have 10 sheet and probably a price point at about $10. Yupo sells their own same size pads and I believe it is in a similiar $8-$10 found in fine art stores. Sandy Allnock did 2-3 blog posts on it.  It is not an easy surface to work on...I am anxious to see what techniques Tim is going to suggest on it. I have tried playing with alcohol inks and feel that it will take considerable work to gain the skills needed for successfully working on it.  However Range is going to have a transparent Yupo for alcohol inks which I haven't seen yet.

I have looked at a few of Sandy's other periscopes and liked the general information about Imagine Crafts glazes. (https://katch.me/sandyallnock/v/14870b6f-5274-3cb8-a3b8-f68ccb57a05b).  I will check out their site for some detailed video's on them.

Next: I have some microglaze on my desk that I am testing on various colorants. I want to check-out Sadie's post on her experience.  Back to another thread for that topic.
Happy creative moments...Jan
