I will sign up. It has been a long time since we did a swap! Thank you for organizing! #>
So, the card can be one written out to the recipient, not so that the recipient can use it again, right?
-
Yes, Heidi this is a happy card for the AI recipient. Personalize it any way you like.
Thanks for your question....and signing on too!
-
Me too!
-
I can give it a go, this will be my first swap I have done, so if there is anything else I need to know, LOL, do share
-
Yankee and Connie so glad you signed on to this swap!
Connie I think this swap is a great swap for a first-timer since it only asks for 1 card and you mail to 1 person. The only thing I can think of that might not be clear is that you need to contact the person that posted before you (Yankee) to ask for her address. The important thing is to have fun!
-
I'm in! Having to mail to someone makes sure I will participate, LOL
I have been lazy on card making lately.
-
I'm in too! Sounds fun!
April
-
Thanks, Yankee was sweet enough to send her address already O0
-
Welcome Kathy and April...I added you to the list!
Connie, it sounds like your are ready to begin your first swap! Hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration!
-
I can give it a go, this will be my first swap I have done, so if there is anything else I need to know, LOL, do share
The only think I can think of is not to forget to photograph your card before you send it. :)
-
I suppose you mean that we post the card to the gallery that WE receive in the mail from our swap buddy?
April

April said: "I suppose you mean that we post the card to the gallery that WE receive in the mail from our swap buddy? " Thanks so much April for asking this question! Sorry my original description was not clear enough because your above statement is not what I meant. Please let me try again.
I am asking each player to take a of picture of the card they made before putting it in the mail. Then wait until your recipient posts on this discussion thread that they have received your card. Then the maker of the card will post the picture in the AI gallery. This way you have the photo of your card to keep for your photo collection and your recipient will be surprised when they open their mail. And of course this will allow all of us to share some gallery applause for each player's work.
I am going to edit my original post to clarify the statement about photos.
Please speak up if there are any other questions.
Hope everyone finds some fun creative moments in the next 2 weeks to make their card!
Thanks!...Jan
-
Thanks for clarifying, Jan. Looking forward to making my card!

I just received the most cheerful spring card from Yankee! Thank you so much! We have had a little bit of a rough time the last 24 hours and this was the most fun thing to get in the mail today!
I will be so happy when Sheila shares this card in the gallery! Inside and out, if she has it!
-
So glad you like it. I had started working on my Easter cards when Jan offered this.
This is my Easter card to family, except above the bunny, theirs says happy easter.
The outside bunny says hoppy spring, so that made it easy for this trade. And I had planed water medium.
I had gotten several pkgs for the wobbler springs on sale. So I was already for this trade
Again glad you like it.
-
Oh yes, the wobbler spring is so fun! And great that they mail so nicely! Thanks again!
-
Shelia thanks for sharing both your card's outside and also inside in the gallery! Here is the link to the outside. (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=2555#top_display_media) I know the wobble is adding lots of additional fun to your card! Thanks for playing...Jan

I received my happy mail from April yesterday! It is adorable! Thank you April!
Mine will go in the mail in a few days. I wanted to do a background with watercolor crayons and it is just not turning out so I need to switch gears, hehehe.

My card went to Yankee, I had just bought some Spectrum Aqua markers one set so I didn't have all the colors I needed so I had to also use some distress inks that I used with my water brush. Fussy cut the flowers and used a stylus to give the centers some dimension and added stickles to the centers of the flowers.

Mine went in the mail yesterday!

Thank you for the card Kathy, that is so pretty, love the bookmark idea and how you presented it on the front of the card, such pretty coloring!!
-
Wow Heidi, I can't believe we picked similar stamps for this challenge...yours has a wonderful feel of springtime freshness! It is sitting on my desk and certainly is perking me up after waking up to a few inches of snow this morning. thanks so much!

Yes, I thought it was fun too, when I saw you chose tulips. Very different style of tulips though!
Here (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=2585&message_id=6c9df0059a02c13c1e6a1e17a94a7d04&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock) is my card.
I had this tulip stamp out in the pile of Easter/Spring stamps that I had assembled for making cards last month. I had not yet used the tulip stamp, so that is the one I picked to work with. I liked how it turned out, because it is a CAS card, but I had fun using some easy techniques on the main panel.
So glad it arrived in less than a week! I wasn't sure how long it would take.
-
Heidi-After all these years of living in Alaska I still miss the spring flowers. So I too had spring flower stamps sitting out...so it definitely was time for me to use a tulip stamp. So glad you used a tulip stamp too!
Generally mail from your part of the US takes 5-7 days but it really has no consistency. I think it is often a matter of what plane it happens to catch a ride on
Thanks again for sharing your card! For me it is really fun to enjoy another stamper's beautiful work in person.
-
Here is the card I sent to Connie. After doing the floral piece it reminded me of a bookmark so here is what I did with it.

Kathy, I love your card and bookmark! That is really clever and the card looks fantastic even after the bookmark is taken off!
Wow!
Jan, you mentioned in the comment that you were glad I left the focal background white. I have to admit I tried two other ways with a lot more color before deciding to leave well enough alone and just have white. It was too much otherwise.
Great swap!
-
Kathy-adding the bookmark to your card was a very sweet idea!
Heidi, nothing is ever wrong with testing out various products/colors before making a final decision.
THanks everyone for playing in this swap. I hope to host another after my cold goes away.
