Have you started any challenges yet? I just finished putting together the cheat sheet. We've got some cool challenges this time around. I need to think about them and figure out where I want to start. I think I'm going to go pull out my embossing powders and do Far North's warm-up challenge first since I still have a little bit of time left for that one.
-
I did the warm up late last night, but I am just getting around to reading the challenges now since we had a game this morning.
Looks like fun!
-
I did the warm-up challenge and finished a card for Sadie's one/ dozen challenge. I need to check out the list and decide what's next.
-
I am trying to get my sample card done so I can upload, but I had to go and get groceries, carry them into the house, and put them away.........so now I am ready to start with something....
-
I am going through and writing them all down, did the warm up last night and now need to figure out which one to start off with
-
I think I am going to give Daria's challenge a try. I have never gotten good results with those ones with embossing folders, but I hope her tips will help me out.
-
I am behind, no real description of my challenge and no sample card. Resting up from trip and playing this week end with grandson. I will start on card this afternoon or evening.
Challenges look very interesting and I will get started on them soon.
Never did get my desk cleaned up, so I will be working in a small area. I have pushed everything to the side that I can.
-
I am declaring tomorrow a play day, as much as I can! I'm anxious to get started on some challenges. I haven't even had a chance to read through all of them yet.
We left the house at 9am this morning and got home around 9pm tonight. We went to the Univ. of Miami vs Virginia Tech football game and tailgated.
"It's great to be a Miami Hurricane" (repeat in a chanting sing song 8) ) It was a lot of fun, pretty toasty in the sun at times (still in the 80's here) and Miami won. so
Go Canes!
-
I've got 2 projects started for fill 'em up. One started for masked and one started for marble roll. I'm having some trouble with the bisque technique.
I'm hoping to finish the projects I started and work on pick 2 and smooshing tomorrow. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for rustic. My brain has kinda shifted from fall to Halloween.
Sadie has been a busy girl today. She's got 3 projects posted already.
-
I started to plan out a couple of challenges to start yesterday but little DS ran a fever so I spent most of the day holding him and watching a movie. He seems better today and my oldest is begging to stay one more day with Nana and Papa so I'm hoping to get inky later!
I'm going to try out the bisque challenge first I think. I've tried it before in the past and could never get a good result.
-
I am doing a happy dance....my electric repairs were fixed yesterday...and is still working this morning! So my first goal is to complete my ATC challenge and get it in the mail today. And then I have Cindi's challenge on the top of my list.
-
Great news, Jan. Glad to hear your electric is fixed.
And thanks for the reminder that I need to finish my ATC.
-
I just now walked into the craftroom and turned the Sprint Cup Race on. Looking at the different challenges and trying to decide where to start. We had a nice birthday lunch for hubby today, he asked for crock pot roast, potatoes, gravy, and carrots. We also had grapes and hot yeast buns. For desert we had hot brownies right out of the oven topped with homemade ice cream. So now I need to change gears from cooking to crafting. I guess they both start with a c so it shouldn't be that hard of a grind on the gears.
I am eyeing djcs challenge. I have a few more Halloween things to make so maybe I will try that with the other embossing folder that came in the pair with the spider web one. Wish me luck, here I go!
-
Great news Jan and thanks for the ATC reminder, yikes! I need to get crackin'!
Mmmm, you are making me hungry Sadie!
I just finished a combo card using the Fill 'Er Up and Masking Challenges. Yay, one card made! I am so slow!
Hmmm, someone mentioned you could make an ATC with their challenge ... I wonder if that will work with LeighAnn's swap requirements ... off to check it out!
-
We had a very busy weekend and I was not able to work on anything at all yesterday. I still need to work on my ATC too! Yikes!
Sadie, I hope DH had a great birthday!
LeighAnn, I hope everyone is healthy now!
I am doing laundry and need to do some cleaning, figure out dinner and do one errand. I do hope to continue working on the bisque challenge today though.
Eta: Today I had success with the bisque technique and I finished one card. But I have 5 more backgrounds to make into cards now too. I am here waiting for bingo and deciding what to try next. I think I might try smoosh stamping next since it will require experimenation.
-
I have not started anything yet! But I have been looking at all the challenges and cards and I am really excited about all of them! Not sure which one I am going to start on first.
April
-
I'm with Stampwilly, I haven't started antyhing yet! I wanted to do Jan's challenge, but hubby decided it was his weekend to get stuff done. And of course I had to help, lol.
We purchased a new sectional having sold our couch before moving. He put the tv up on the wall. And we got 2 rows of boxes taken care of in the garage.
But I am going to check everything out now!
-
I've got a couple of pieces that are finished and I need to post. And I have to finish my bisque technique card, my smoosh stamping card and pick two card. I'm still thinking about the Rustic challenge.
-
Inktoberfest is about halfway over! Can you believe it! So many great challenges and now Stampwilly added one to the Bingo!
-
No way Heidi..LOL! I totally got interrupted when we had severe weather warnings for another winter wet ice and snow storm with threats. More ice meant potential for more tree damage and down power lines...the ending of the warning on Tues was with great relief that we only a little snow. But of course there was all the prep work...and restocking of water and food...all taking up my precious crafty time.
So last night I worked on some backgrounds...and now for some focal images to match up with the challenges. I hope to finish Daria's challenge today.
-
I plan on starting the Rustic challenge tonight. I have a stamp picked out and one of the rustic elements, but I am going to have to try to look around for more rustic elements.
Jan, I am glad that the weather did not show up, but sorry you had to waste all that time.
-
I finished the Rustic card and I just have some glue drying, so I guess I will move on. Maybe I will try the coloring drive-by. I would like to try the masking one soon too.
I still have 3 more to do if I finish those. I have a heater tune-up appointment tomorrow, so I am not sure I will be able to get much done then. But like I said, I will have Sunday...
-
Hooray, I was able to get some challenges done tonight! Both boys went to bed early so I had some extra time this evening.
I worked on several different ones and have a card completed for Sadies dozen challenge, Heidi's fill'er up, Aprils Rustic and Sarah's show em some love. I still need to take some pics.
I am working on the masking and in the bisque now. I'm getting sleepy so I may have to finish those tomorrow!
-
I have several challenges I haven't tried yet so will be cracking open the craftroom after supper tonight. I wanted to try all the challenges at least once and this week hasn't really turned out to be very crafty. LOL! I did work on the rest of my Halloween crap tho so that is good since Halloween is coming right up.
-
I just completed the Masking project, although it is too dark to photo it, so I will do that in the morning.
The challenges I have left are You Pick Two, One of this and One of That and at least a Dozen, and Marbles Roll.
I wonder if I can get those all done on Sunday.
I have to say, this has been one of the best fests ever, as far as fun challenges! I have really been enjoying myself!
-
I just finished my last card, I was able to do all the challenges but the coloring an image. I will have to wait until morning to take the picture though, no good lighting now. Had so much fun and was able to use all the cards for ones I needed to make this week, so that is a plus. If I don't have enough time to post before I leave for church I will get it done in the afternoon.
-
I finished up cards for Bisque, Rustic, You Pick and Smoosh. Like Heidi and Connie, I need to take pictures of them tomorrow.
I have another Bisque piece that needs to be turned into a card. And I would like to make a couple of more marble backgrounds. I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to that tomorrow because I'm going to the movies with my mom, which will cut into crafty time.
I agree Heidi, it has been a great fest.
-
As predicted, I did not get anything done today. I do hope to have some time tomorrow!
Connie that is great you completed all the challenges and even better, that you could use all those cards!
Craft Nerd, did you finish them all, too? You have definitely had a productive fest.
-
Yep. Although I haven't made any combos this fest. :o I think that's a first for me.
-
I was hopeful thinking I might finish 2 cards today but unfortunately there are still clean-up details around the house from the power outage situation that needed attention. It feels better tonight having done some of those tasks...but creeping along with the challenges.
Tomorrow I am taking a 4 hours intro class on using a letterpress at our Bookmaking Arts Guild...so I am up tonight thinking about Heidi's challenge.
As I was working on the one-layer masking project I couldn't help but think of Daniel and his passion for masking. It feels very odd having an event without him playing....I can not think of another he has missed. I hope he has found housing where he feels safe.
...Jan
-
It definitely feels a bit odd not having Daniel around for a fest.
So the sun is not cooperating for photos this morning. It is very grey out. Hopefully, there will be enough light for photos.
I realized I forgot about the Bingo twist. I'm hoping to combine that with another marble background. As soon as I'm done with my coffee, I'm off to work on that.
-
I agree, I have also missed Daniel and wish him well! I have seen his username pop up at the bottom of the screen from time to time (where it shows who is logged in).
Not sure about my day, it might not go as planned.
-
I have thought about Looser a few times this week too......
I only have one challenge yet to complete and then I believe I have done them all at least once. Hubby is bringing me some ball bearings home to do the marbles rolling challenge.....along with my ATC description I left at work from when I typed it out to send to Far North. So I have a couple things to do this afternoon.
-
I miss Daniel too. I was thinking of him when I was working on Sadie's challenge and was thinking how much fun he would have with it.
I have several in my list I need to do. I'm almost finished with a few so those are first on my list-
Heidi, Connie and Cindi's
Then I will have Daria's and Jans to work on. I've been struggling with getting the results I want for those.
-
I finished another card for Jan's challenge and I just have to put the finishing touches on a card comboing the Bingo twist, Jan and Cindi's challenges. Of course I have to post those and the ones I got done yesterday. And I think that will probably be it for me. I still need to make dinner but right now, I'm full from popcorn at the movie.
