Welcome to another Happy Mail Card Swap as we move into our fall routines #>
Any day that includes a handmade card in my mailbox becomes extra special for me and I hope it is the same for you. So this swap is an opportunity to make a card and send it to another assigned player.
Challenge for this card the challenge is to make a background with depth and/or dimension by using ink or any other liquid to create ink drops, splatters etc.

Ah Sheila, so glad you decided to "just do it"!
-
I know I am bad, but I never sign up for something unless I have an idea of what to make.
Now that does mean it will work, but I need a starting point.
-
Oh Sheila whatever works for you is always best. Sometimes it can be just too stressful to do it any other way.
-
Oh yesterday was a Happy Mail Day for me! I received a beautiful fall card which included many colorful splatters. I can’t wait until April shares her card along with her creative technique of creating splatters.
-
I have been working on my swap card today. I have come up with something and now I am letting it sit while I decide whether to add anything else or not. Fun!

Thank you so much Heidi for the fall card. I love it! Your special paint splatter looks really nice, I'll let you tell about it in the gallery. I always like your layouts. Another one I need to remember so I can copy it!
-
I sent Leigh-Ann a new to me stamp of a giraffe, because he was tall an thin I put stencil paste on sides and grounded him with ribbon.

Sorry I'm just now getting around to commenting and getting my card up! This week has been crazy hectic and my oldest ended up getting food poisoning on top of it all. I'm really for a calmer week!
I'm loving everyone's cards! It makes me want to take a hike in the woods :)

I broke out the gelatos and my UTEE. It was fun to play with some mediums I haven't used in a while!
Thanks for hosting, Jan!
-
Thanks for sharing your technique, LeighAnn! There was a lot that was put into that card!
I am sorry your DS got food poisoning! I am sure that was no picnic!
-
I received my lovely card from Cindi today. I really love the background. I hope she can post it soon. Thanks so much, Cindi.

You're welcome April! I hope it arrived in good condition. I would have liked to have given the paint more time to dry, so just in case, I put waxed paper over the top. Did that work?
I scraped paint over the background with the "credit cards" that arrive in junk mail. I think I learned that technique during one of our fests. Was that one of your challenges, Jan? It's a fun technique. I ended up with almost a rust color that matches one of the leaves where the paints blended, I think it was the seedless preserves and the peeled paint.
Well, I'm off to catch up the laundry, make ice cubes and run to the grocery store ... just in case Hurricane Matthew takes out our power. :knuppel2:
