Title: Christmas All Year 2016 - October
Post by: Iring on October 02, 2016, 08:34:12 PM
Will someone please slow the clock?!  Time is flying too, too fast.

October's challenge is to include a sleigh, as the Christmas icon of the month.  Since there may not be a lot of sleigh stamps out there, you can choose any form of transportation (thinking some of the cute pick up truck stamps with trees in the back, or a car, boat, plane ... ).
For a technique ... how about heat embossing?

Have fun, and get some cards made!

I have a sleigh, i think.  I hope to figure out how to use it, I have had trouble with it in the past.  Thanks for hosting and yes, I think I need time to slow down before Christmas too!

Yes, time is going way too fast! I made 2 cards for last month and still need to upload them!

Sounds like a fun prompt, I will have to see what I can come up with! Thanks for hosting, Cindi!

That is such a cute card Nora!  I hope you keep posting!
Yay, a new stamp for April!  Can't wait to see it.
I'm anxious to see posts from Heidi and Lovepug2 also.
It will be a miracle if you see a Christmas card from me this month.  It's going to be a crazy month around here.

Cindi, how are you doing down there in the storm?

It's been very hectic but we fared well!  Matthew stayed off of our coast by about 35 miles.  Lots of mostly small branches and leaves down.  We have a big pile of yard waste waiting to be picked up.  Never know if we will lose power but this time we lucked out!  Hooray for power!

My mom and dad stayed with us and just moved out today.  They might be back though because even though they lost power and got it back, their A/C died the day before the storm.  The A/C people haven't called them with a quote on a new unit yet.  For now, we hooked up a small portable unit that will hopefully cool their bedroom and den ... or they can move back in with us!

I hope April is doing okay.  Looks like they got more flooding and higher winds than we did.

Yesterday and today I hopped back on the wedding invite train.  I had hoped to get them out this weekend ... tomorrow is Columbus Day, so looks like I'm shooting for Tuesday.  I've been using my Silhouette with a pen replacing the blade to address the envelopes.  Looks nice, but it's a pretty slow process.  I'm about 2/3rds done with the envelopes.  Mom will help me stuff and stamp them.

Thanks for thinking of me!

ETA : Today's "feels like" temp is 92 degrees so A/C is still very important!

I received a sleigh stamp from friend.  Made several cards.  Found this patterned paper that was presents falling in the night sky. So perfect for santa.

I have been working on Halloween cards, but might be ready to get back to Christmas mode soon.  My plan will be to get the stamps out in plain sight.

Yankee, I love your cards!

Yankee, yes that paper IS perfect!  I really like the sparkle too.  Thanks for posting your cards!

Heidi, that's ok.  I haven't made Halloween or Christmas.  Yikes!

If you make any Christmas cards during Inktoberfest, please share a link here.

I thought I would get my Christmas cards done first before I started on Inktoberfest. I made 2 with a sleigh using a new sleigh stamp!

All right, now that INK16 is over, I am really going to try to work on these sleighs! I hope to get somethingn done before the month is through!

Here is my first sleigh card. This is not the one I find hard to use, in fact, it is one of my more favorite Christmas stamps and I have used it a lot over the years.  It is still available, I see it in the sale bin at AC Moore.

I have two more sleigh stamps.  One is the hard-to-use-one and another one is tiny.  I didn't notice any others yet.  I am working on Christmas cards still this month and will see if I can use the others.

Thank you for all of the wonderful cards you linked here this month, with and without sleighs!
Christmas is getting closer so more of us are getting busy making cards.

Inktoberfest was just what I needed to get a few Christmas cards finished too.

Christmas Scene (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=91&pid=3019#top_display_media) using polished stone background and Jan's Holiday Stylin challenge.

Foiled tree for Sarah's challenge (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=91&pid=3005#top_display_media)

An ornament card (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?album=91&pid=3003#top_display_media) using another polished stone piece.

October has been a productive month!

I'll post another challenge tomorrow ... getting too late to think tonight, my mind is already asleep.

Happy Halloween!
