Title: Creative Challenges - Generation Stamping (8/3 - 8/9)
Post by: howdyheidi on August 03, 2020, 06:47:07 AM
Good morning!  My challenge to you this week is to use generation stamping on your card.  You can use it a little or a lot.

I used this technique last week on this card - http://mylittlestampingblog.blogspot.com/2020/07/hydrangea-sympathy.html - and wondered why I don’t use it more often.

Link your cards here!

Heidi, your card is so pretty! I have not done this technique in a long time. I am looking forward in doing this.

Thanks Heidi!  Your sample card is very pretty.  I don't have any water soluble oil pastels,  I wonder if gelatos would work the same way?
I have an idea or two for generational stamping ...

Thank you!

Yes, I think gelatos would work the same.  I don’t even know if this Prima product is available still! (I looked it up and they are still available.)

I should have been clear. You can use ink, paint, whatever, just use generation stamping with it!

I used inks.  I stamped large blue and embossed with glitter emb powder.
I stamped smaller blub with distress oxide three times without reining and embossed for each color.
Then masked all, stamped branch everywhere with distress ink, then used brush to fill in same color on background.  Added glitter strip and glitter die cut word.

I tried a few stamps. I liked using Distress inks better than my watercolor crayons that I tried first. Thanks for the fun challenge.

April and Sheila, I like all your projects!  Thanks for playing!

April, That is a good point that watercolor paper sucks up more of the ink.  When I did mine I did use watercolor paper, but I spritzed my stamp with more water after two generations to get it to transfer more of the color.

I wasn't sure I liked how this turned out at first but ended up liking it after I let it sit for a day and came back to it, hubby's co workers Mom passed away, I think we have had enough here lately, hoping I don't have to make any more of these.

Oh, it is a sad thing to have to make so many sympathy cards.  I’m sorry to hear it.  Your card is very pretty and appropriate.  Thanks for doing my challenge.
