Inspired by (Utah) Ann's query about 'messy alcohol inks'...
My challenge is to use fingertips (yours, your kids &/or pets paws) to 'stamp' on a project. You may 'glove' the fingertips or go bare-naked digits. :o You may do your fingertip stamping with inks, paints or whatever--but you must share what/how you used fingertips & link your project to this thread.
You may combine this challenge with any others that allow for combining.
Looking forward to seeing how 'touching' your projects can be... ;D
I'll be sending a random-drawn rak from the entries uploaded by the end of the fest's regular week.
Congrats to Ms. Heidi. I put all players names in a bowl, applied glue* to a fingertip & lifted out her name.
*the glue was Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.

How cool, Daniel!
Looking forward to getting inky O0
I can't recall the manufacturer of them but I saw a stamp set recently that used your finger print for bodies of little critters you create.

LOL, Pug! I remember seeing an article in the 60s where folks inked their fingertips & used a pen to add stick-figure arms, legs & features. That would be 'legal' for my challenge & I can just imagine what might happen if any of us were 'finger-printed' in the course of job-security & such (nothing criminal, of course ::)). Heaven help us if we have a pen handy. #>
-
Well, what fun to take us back to kindergarten, Daniel! This should be fun!

Woo Hoo - finger print stamping.
-
Good idea! And I know I have seen the stamp set that LeighAnn is talking about. Thanks for hosting!
-
Oh this will be fun and it might be fun (for me at least) to see what a gloved finger stamp looks like!
-
Sounds fun, and I'm definitely going naked for this one :laughhard:, in the privacy of my own room of course!
-
My fingers were nekkid to create the kitty for this card.

WTG, Sarah! Left you praise & have sent a copy of your kitty to the appropriate authorities for inclusion in their prints' file. ;D
Thanks for playing, pal! Love that you used your fingernail, as well as your tips. Very handy of you! ;)
-
The kitty is really clever!
-
Daniel, do we need to add additional stamping to our project, or is our fingerprints enough image stamping?
-
Thanks for a fun challenge! Here is my entry. My explanation is with my card.

I used my nakkid finger to paint the tree in this card. It took a long time to dip in paint and stamp the finger over and over. LOL

I originally was trying to make a snowman, but I couldn't get him as round as I wanted so I switched ideas. Here is what I came up with.

Ok Daniel, I tried.
I used my three old grandson fingertips to make a flower border. It is the gallery.
-
I am so happy with all the pieces! Each one has been such fun to see & praise!
Daniel, do we need to add additional stamping to our project, or is our fingerprints enough image stamping?
Sorry for the 'late' answer, but glad you didn't wait on my response, Heidi. Regular 'stamping' is not required for my challenge. Your fingerprint 'stamping' is sufficient to enter my challenge.
For my FP (coming soon), I mostly used the technique to create 'BGs'--rather than using the FPs to create images like the wonderful kitty, caterpillar & ladybugs.
Sadie's tree is fun! She 'shaped' her tree freeform & it works, too.
Looking forward to seeing what else shows up for my challenge!
-
Here's my piece (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1161). I combo'd it with Nerd's 'Color Challenge. Fun! :D

Here's my journal page:
plant and bird (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=1176&message_id=b9548f16df736a701901f2e22054b754&message_icon=info#cpgMessageBlock)
I had the most fun with this Daniel--first I did use a plastic baggy over my finger and I really liked the different shapes it made---but it was unreliable so decided after the base layer for the plant that I'd just use my pinky.
My first attempt at your challenge really did not end well....so I had to start over and I am so glad I did b/c I like this result but I also got to learn from the first. (I thought using ink spray over a clear embossed CS would be fine, but for some reason the spray leached into the embossed area--probably from underneath).
Thank you for a fun challenge Daniel and helping me get out of my comfort zone! O0 :D
-
WTG, Melissa! Funny thing about 'comfort zones'... They start out being safe & cozy, but can end up being a bit too close for comfort. A bit of outside the zone every now & then enlarges our comfort.
Along with our cousins--the monkeys & apes--our ability to use our fingers as actual tools remains a great part of our creative stash.
Speaking of watercoloring... You can get interesting effects by wetting the paper & applying inks on fingertips. They will diffuse--even blend if more than one color is used. Then when that is dry, you can apply more inky-tips to create more 'defined' designs. ;)
-
Well I will have to say I didn't know if I could figure out what to do with this challenge and I sat down and this came to mind :

-
Great job, Connie!
BTW... Now that so many of you have been 'tipped off' to this technique, you might want to make some easter eggs, jellybeans, fuzzy chicks & bunnies using this method. Easter's on its way! ;)
-
I made another one. I stamped butterflies, flowers and dots to create a background. I also figured I share a picture of the background before I finished the card and of my fingers after I finished stamping.

WTG, Sarah! Love your talented & colorful fingers! And that goes for all who 'put their finger on it' for this challenge. TY'all!
-
Thank goodness for being able to go random for a prize since every entry was so unique for this challenge! O0
Congrats to Heidi! I'll be sending her some 'goodies' ASAP.
-
Oh wow, thank you Daniel!
I agree, there were some wonderful and varied entries to this challenge. Thanks for hosting!
-
Congrats Heidi!
-
Congratulations Heidi! Sorry Daniel, I ran out time to play in your challenge. Life just got too busy! But I do appreciate you hosting as busy as you are right now.
-
Congratulations heidi!!!
Thank you Daniel for hosting a fun challenge!
-
Congrats, Heidi.
-
Thought of your challenge Daniel when I saw Jennifer McGuire's post today:
paint with fingers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPURIH91VcU&feature=youtube_gdata_player)
The painting starts around 4:05....she paints the stamped images using pigment inks and her fingers-----also thought of Ann, lol---Jennifer said that pigment ink doesn't soak into your paper, thus doesn't soak into your fingers and makes for an easy cleanup!
-
Fun video, tfs! I have the set of avery elle inks and I will have to try this!
-
I am getting a white and red Avery Elle--can't wait until they get here! and I want to try this using them and my other pigment inks!
For Daniel's challenge I used distress inks only--as they more or less clean off your fingers with water and the rest comes off usually be end of day for me....but I wash my hands often by bedtime with all the cooking at suppertime.
-
I like how she went over the whole thing with embossing powder in the end really brings out the colors
-
My puter doesn't play well with videos, but glad for the share. Thanks, Melissa.
Connie. I too find that glazing--EP or Diamond Glaze (liquid)--can really help pop colors & details on a piece. Plus... Glazing between stampings can add depth to a piece. I know DG can be stamped with many different inks & I'm sure lots of different (clear) EPs will accept inks/paints.
-
Oh! That is what I get for not finishing the video!---I miss where she used the EP at the end---TY Connie for sharing that...I'm going to go finish the video..
Daniel, I wondered if you'd be able to watch it...I'm sorry that you couldn't. I should had posted the blog posting also----here it is, Daniel--you can see the finished cards after she colored them: blog page with images colored (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/03/video-coloring-with-pigment-ink-giveaway.html)
That is a great idea to stamp on top of EP, etc--I'll have to try that sometime. And I'll have to try glazing other images.
