Title: Whatcha working on?
Post by: Craft Nerd on February 22, 2015, 09:19:13 AM
What are you working on today?  Have you started any challenges yet?  Finished any?

I've got a combo piece in the works, combining gesso resist, old and new, window and art @ your fingertips.  I should get that assembled today.
I've got a bunch of faux patina pieces made that need to be turned into cards.  I've got a couple of pieces for CG's watercoloring challenge waiting to be colored and some backgrounds waiting for stenciling.  So I've got a bunch of stuff started but nothing finished yet.  Oh and I'm hoping to work on Sadie's stencil inspiration challenge too.  And one of the patina pieces is for Melissa's impression challenge, so I need to finish that.

Hope you have some crafty fun time today.

Great work, Sarah!

I finished the Doodle challenge.  I have something in the works for the Old and New Challenge, but I am not 100% sure about it.

I have an idea for the Gesso challenge and I want to try that soon so it can dry.

I am having a lot of trouble making decisions about what stamps I want to use for all the challenges!  Also, I got sidetracked looking at stamp companies mentioned in the top 5 today!

I have my freezer meal party this afternoon, but hopefully will still get to stamp!

I have 4 projects lined up on my table.  So organized it looks funny to me!   ;D  I never do this, but I have a small top to a box that is holding one project with EF, EP, and watercolor paper; another tray, that is used for glitter, but is instead holding Heidi's challenge components; then I ran out of box lids and so lined the other two projects up next to the boxes in groups: one group is stamps for Daria's challenge, and the last is watercolor paper with EF....

Yesterday I hung a fluorescent light for my seedlings I planted---well smart me, connected some chains that I hung, one at a time while holding my arms up to tie them together (later, much later, did it don on me that I should had tied them together before hanging  ::)), well at any rate, my arms (deltoids to be exact) were dead....dead after that....and thus doing any crafting wasn't going to happen....so I organized the projects instead.

But today I should be able to play!!!

Sarah, you've been busy!

Heidi, I love freezer party meals!

Melissa, at least your organized! My stuff I just tossed in a box because I was too tired to put it away like I should have last night!

I hope both boys nap today so I can play.  I want to finish what I started last night and work on Daria's challenge.

Oh my, life got away from me yesterday   My friend was checked out of the hospital after hip surgery yesterday but the last flight of the night was cancelled due to weather conditions.  So I am waiting on a text to see if I am still on cat sitting duty this morning.  Another friend hosted a Italian Big Dinner Party last evening so I spent most of the day making 4 batches/2 kinds of Italian cookies and one triple recipe of Italian wedding soup.  A fabulous 8 course dinner was enjoyed by all and we all rolled home laughing and enjoying moments of the fabulous evening.

So that's my excuse that I just finished reading all the challenge and making notes. Thanks again Sarah for the cheat sheet!  I am trying to focus on the gesso projects...but I must say Sadie's stencil project has my mind turning.  Happy creative moments everyone!...Jan

ohhh yummm, I just ate brunch but Jan has my mouth watering over Italian wedding soup and cookies and dinner and ...
I must be out of the food loop because I have never been to a freezer meal party!  Is it a party like pampered chef, thirty one ... that sort of thing?

I finished Sadie's Stencil Surprise yesterday.  It was really a lot of fun!  I'm itching to make more.
I also spent a lot of time messing with CG's watercolored EF.  After some trial and error I have a few pieces worthy of a spot on a card.

That's it so far.  I hope to play more later this afternoon, evening.

It is pampered chef.  My friend is a demo.  You buy a "menu" of 10 meals worth of their condiments and so on and then you bring the meat, produce and so on and you use the demos tools to help you prep everything. I am splitting many of the meals into two because we are small family and so I should have 16 meals.  It is the first time I will be trying it, but I am ready for some new recipes.  They are mostly crock pot, but they have grilled menus etc.   I hear Tastefully simple has a similar program.

Heidi - what's a freezer meal party?  I'm out of the loop like Cindi.

Jan - as big Italian dinner party sounds fun and yummy.

Melissa - getting organize is important too.

LeighAnn - hopefully the boys will nap and let mom play.

I haven't started yet today. I was a good girl and went to the store. And my reward was girl scout cookies. And right now I'm working on the Mac and cheese for dinner. That way I will just have to pop it in the oven later once I'm done I'll have lunch and get crafty.

Gonna try to tackle Daria's 'old/new'.  And (hopefully) a few others. So glad many hosters are allowing combos, but gonna try not to go that route too much.

Intersting how many of the challenges are BG-related.  I like! O0

We just got done with lunch.  Everybody was gone last weekend but us (we were home doing all the chores)  so lunch went later this week then normal.  And we all started watching Daytona 500, yeah the racing season started again....so I am just getting back to WF15.  I am not sure which one I am going to start with this afternoon, I need to go and look through all of them again......maybe I will just do the one that is at the top of the page when I go there after I post this.

Anyway I need to get moving to work off all the food I ate at lunch.

I managed to finish 3 cards and start in 2 other challenges. Hooray for naptime O0.
I will get pics of them later today and upload.

Freezer meal making went well.  I also sneaked in a run since it was 43!  I didn't wear a coat all day!  Even when shoveling!  I mean, it is 45 degrees warmer today than Friday morning!

I now have two challenges done and have worked quite a bit on the gesso one. I am going to gesso stamp some images tonight and just let them dry till the morning and hope that works.  I am out of energy but I am also going to look at the cheat sheet and see if I can plan anything for tomorrow.

It is supposed to be really cold again tomorrow.

It is fun to see the new projects in the gallery!

Just finished reading thru the challenges (we had a very busy weekend!) and I would love to get started on something! This is the week I emerge from my creative slump! (Is there a "fingers crossed" smiley?)

On my list to try first are... Doodle, Watercolor Dry Embossing, color my world and Windows to the World - no particular reason - they just took my fancy!

I got my combo piece finished.  It took longer than I thought.  And I managed to finish 3 doodled pieces, but I need to attach them to card bases.  My stencil surprise piece is drying and I managed to watercolor three pieces.  I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with the watercolored pieces and the faux patina pieces.  I've also got my bits and pieces together for the impression challenge.

Heidi, I had to laugh about you going without a coat all day!  The temperature is definitely relative.  It went down in the 40's Friday night so I put on a sweatshirt and a winter coat to go for a walk.  Today it was back in the high 70s.

Today I just had to make another Stencil Impression card while I had all my stamps out!  I worked on Daria's Old/New challenge.  It's drying. I finished Far North's Doodle challenge.  Tomorrow I'll take some photos and upload.

I think I am going to pick one of the 3 watercolor embossing pieces I did and finish it....along with Heidi's piece.  I need to try the gesso resist and not be afraid...  hehehehe... That's where I'm starting...

I guess I have three completed challenges now, and I have a dried gesso stamping piece that I need to decide what to use for color.

I am at the point I need to clean up my craft area really well, because I keep ruining things by smearing ink and so on.

After that I am going to see if I can work on Melissa's Impression challenge. I think that is a good one to gather materials like we used to for mood boards, and then see where those materials take me.  That sounds like fun!

Hello inkers!
I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I did get your messages telling me about winter fest. & I even voted on a week. However this week is the one I can't make it. I'm in park city skiing with friends all week. Thanks for remembering me even though I haven't been active on the board. I am still crafting, I started pocket page scrapping in 2015 (project life). So while I've been getting the hang of that I haven't done much other crafting or blogging. I'll check out the challenges and maybe find time next week to do a few. Have a great fest!!

Michele

Michelle-thank you for posting!  It is good to see you even if you can not play this week  #>  But yes, there is a hangover challenge next week.  Hope to see more of you then.

Michelle have fun skiing.  We do have an underused scrapbooking board, and there are several scrapbookers on here that might like the chance to chat about scrapbooking.  There is also a scrapbooking album in the gallery.  It would be neat to see your cards you are using.

For me I have done something for Looser's challenge which I don't like and am going to need to start something else.  I have done something for yellowcherrios challenge and also do not like that piece so will need to do something else.  And I have done 3 different things for Far North's challenge and do not like any of them so will need to come up with something else for that as well.  I seem to be on a challenge block right now.  I can't seem to come up with ideas that work out like I see them in my head.  LOL!  I have plans to do all the challenges those plans just don't seem to be working out......maybe I should stop planning and just do.

Hi everyone.  Hope you are still having fun with Winterfest!  We are up to 12 challenges now with the Drive by added!  I have 6 done, 7, if you count my own.

I have an idea for Daniel's challenge and want to work on that today.  I got a little sidetracked working on a few Christmas cards that did not combo with WF15 challenges. I want to finish them too.

I also want to work on the Drive by today since the time frame is shorter. I think I *may* get to everything.  If not, there is Hangover.  But, I also like to repeat challenges sometimes during Hangover.

Sadie - I hope you break through your block.

I did have a chance to work on anything on Monday and Tuesday.  And tonight I mostly worked on parts to go on pieces I started over the weekend.  I did put the finishing touches on my stencil surprise piece and on one of the faux patina pieces, but I'm not happy with the photos I took.  So I'm going to try photographing them again tomorrow.

So far, the only challenge I haven't at least started is Ann's 3=1 and the drive-by.  I'm planning on working on the drive-by tomorrow.  But Ann's challenge will probably have to wait until this weekend.

I was able to get quite a few done yesterday! I got caught up on my work so I had a craft night last night!

I plan on working on a few more tonight. Jve got ideas for Daniels and Jan's challenge. And I'm still working through CBgirls challenge. I should be able to complete all including the drive by hopefully!

Going to tackle LeighAnn's again and need to experiment with Daniel's today and Ann's I want to try my distress ink droppers and see what happens since I don't have AI yet---and doesn't look like I'll be getting some in next few days with the snow piling on here---I trust my driving in snow but not others...

I finished several projects but haven't had a chance to photo and post them.  I did finally post my stencil surprise piece and the punched flower I made for Melissa's drive-by.

Well, we have three days left and I have three challenges left.  We are having company on Sunday afternoon so I hope to work on them today and tomorrow.  Both kids are at school today, so I should have some time, hopefully.

I got my Alcohol inks in the mail last evening!  So I need to open those and get working.  I still have been in the mood to work on Christmas cards, so I have been doing those too.

So i've got the Alcohol ink left, the stencil surprise and Melissa's winter picture (which I have already stamped a couple things to try-out).

I plan to work on my challenges this evening. I have Daniel's, Sadie's, Jan's and April's watercolor dry emboss left.
I also need to upload my flower for Melissa's drive by.

Heidi, which colors did you get?

LeighAnn, I got two sets.  Farmers Market has Cranberry, Lettuce and Eggplant, and the other (RL?) Has Bottle (dark green), Terra Cotta and Denim.  From the photo, I had thought that the Bottle color was blue and not green, but that is okay.

Pretty colors. I use the farmers market one a lot, especially the cranberry. I was just looking at my bottles the other day and it appears that stream must be one of my favorites because it's almost empty! Can't wait to see what you create with them. If you have vellum, they work really well on that too.

I can't believe I have done all the challenges for WF! YEAH! ;D I have loved seeing all the cards for each one too.

Michelle, I know you are having fun skiing. We used to go every year for many years when the boys were at home. Now I might break something, so I don't go! Glad you checked in with us. Hope you can do a few hangover challenges next week.

It is sunny but still pretty cold today.

Hope that ya'll have a good day.

WTG April that you finished all the challenges!!   O0

I'll be working on Ann's challenge--hope it's dry since I used distress reinkers....and then I'll see if my third attempt at LeighAnn's challenge works any better with thicker gesso and I threw in a differnt stamp encase that's the problem...

Oh an dI am 1/2 finished with Daniel's challenge and I have a center piece I am working out for Heidi's finihsed card....lots going on lol!

Good thing we had inches and inches of snow last night--get to stay in all day!

Yikes this has been one crazy week here with not as much creating as I wish and this morning is not going to be better.  Just hope I have time this afternoon.  Melissa's flowers are ready for a photo and so is my work for Ann's  and CG and challenge.  Sadie's project has been sitting on my desk for a few days so it is next up.
Later my stampin friends!...Jan

Jan, I hope you have had a little time to work.

The last thing for me is Stencil Surprise. I did kindof leave it for last because I assumed I would need to get out a lot of stamps at once.

Thanks Heidi!  I was able to get a lot of things wrapped up yesterday so I am planning on focusing on Stencil Surprise today. I have been "trying out" stamps all week for it.  So many times when I settle on one another idea pops into my head...LOL!  Heidi, hope you have fun putting yours together!

Hope others find some creative time today too!...Jan

I've done what I could for WF15 & had fun @ the party.

I stold time from cleaning & sorting today to create my Mar. KIAE kit & do a kept kit project.

Next week I need to make some serious progress in cleaning out my room of decades of debris. Sooner we can have the house cleaned out; sooner I can get out of Dodge. ;)

I'm impressed that you got all the challenges done, Stampwilly.  O0

I got a piece done for Ann's but I mucked it up.  I'll probably still use it for a card but I may give it another go tomorrow.

I've got 7 pieces started that need to be finished - 3 faux patina, 1 watercolor, 2 gesso and Ann's.  One just needs to be assembled.  For 2 I know what I want to do, but they aren't quite ready for assembly. And I have no idea what I'm doing with the rest.  :D

I managed to finish a project for each of the challenges. I just finished posting all the pictures (Sorry for flooding the gallery), and I'm done crafting for tonight.  I had a lot of fun during Winterfest and I'm looking forward to Hangover week.

I also managed to finish stamping the images for March's kit.
